I hate getting my hopes up about getting a CRX, but what do you feel I should do 1st?
IF I get a CRX, I think the first few upgrades I would do would probably include rims, lowering suspension, and exhaust....what would you suggest? And what were your first improvements on your Rex?

Mid-level coilovers, lots of maintenance and a mini-me swap. By maintenance, i mean don't let your ride fall into disrepair. I know people who don't pay dime one to make sure their car runs right. Thorough wash and detail job never hurts either. How good your car runs and stuff directly corelates to how much time you put into it. Not necessarily money, but time. If you spend time on your car and learn to love it, it'll reward you with fewer headaches. It's like any good relationship, it just takes time.
Sorry to ramble.
Edit: Oh, and when i had my crx, the first mods i did were to put on a full exhaust. Header, test pipe, custom bent catback, the whole shebang. It already had neuspeed springs when i bought it too.

In my opinion.....
- Swap + brakes + wheels
- Suspension upgrades
Reason is when I first bought my car new I thought the brakes were the weakest part. The car handles fairly well stock but at excessive (illegal) speeds the car's brakes fade VERY fast. The rotors are just too damn small. So if you do a swap and don't touch the brakes you could have serious issues stopping the car (at least if you drive like me). The wheels are included first because if you go with bigger brakes you need at least 15" wheels.
I know it's tempting to mess with the suspension and cars looks first and touch the brakes last but it's very dangerous to have this mentality.
What did I do first......
Well I bought my car new and back in the day NOBODY did swaps. So I was stuck with the POS 1.6 liter. My car is completely different now, but back then I did....
- Pioneer head unit, changer in the hatch, 3 Coustic amps, Coustic active crossover, 8 speaker setup, 2 - 10" Celestion subs, everything mounted in amp rack with plexi-glass and whole nine yards. (I was big into ICE back then)
- A-T Engineering header and muffler (company is long since gone)
- Jackson Racing springs / Bilstein shocks (yes, they made springs back then)
The car sat for about 10 years until last year when I built it up. This time what did I do first......everything

THATS HOW YOU FREAKIN DO IT.
all your parts overnighted from japan
alot of us wish we could have done it all in one shot i know i wanted too but it just wasnt realistic for alot of us. not speaking for everybody though. i did mine in one shot cuz my engine blew and i took advantage of the situation.

i say you can follow the same way i went..Not saying its the best but its a good way..
do swap..with supporting mods.
suspension..as in ball joints, tie rods etc. (things that will prolly need to be changed for basic matience for cars these old) and also do other suspension mods..springs, struts, etc.
brakes + wheels
after that you should have a well rounded car..that will be a good DD and fun to drive.

I suppose the first question, should be what do you plan to do with the car?
I did suspension/wheels.........swap/"etc"......brakes.
But it's all cyclical and I'll be re-tooling the suspension hopefully soon. Then I'll work on the "etc."......and then maybe brakes again......and then repeat.

first thing i'd do? a complete tune up. new belts, new fluids, replace tired parts, etc.
after that, i'd probably do suspension and brakes. it's cool to go fast, but usually stopping is what matters most.

Your motor is backwards n00b.
It really depends on your plans and the model of your car. Suspension isn't a bad area, bolt on's/swap isn't either as you will never have enough hp. I've never even touched my brakes but i only drag race basically so i've never needed to push them.
My car actually has needed a new master cylinder for a year and i've been putting it off... i'm not smart.

hahaha....yeah, I tried my hardest to get everything is the right spot but it was impossible. There's tons of stuff that's wrong, but to the noob it's hard to tell. People see the tires at the corners, the engine up front and the exhaust and that seems to be all they relate to.
So how does it feel to be banned from the most commercial Honda site on the web

haha, good honestly. That site was such a drag. All i ever did was set people straight it seemed and i havn't learned a thing from there this year. I've actually been reading a ton and doing my own research lately on engine theory and such. I'm graduating in the fall and figure it'll be nice to walk into a company and be able to discuss at length with engineers at least basic engine stuff that they might of missed in my classes. /hyjack

:O
Very nice input all and ty for all the feedback. Novice question here, I see this in alot of Integras, CRX's, and other Hatchbacks,
someone said its for your shocks or something that affects steering, and yet I see it on alot of peoples cars who just get engine swaps. o_O Btw how much is it for the glass roof conversion? This dude I know is selling his EF8 Converted CRX for only 7k, said the glass roof was imported from Egypt, = $$$

the bar that goes from shock tower to shock tower?
that's called a strut tower brace. it helps unify the chassis and reduce flex for better handling.
and a glass top is expensive. there's a thread on cr-xcentral about installing one.

Ty I figured thats what they were for seeing they are in the back above the axles too. ^-^........oh and I thought that it was impossible to make CRX's ugly...... eBay Motors: Honda : CRX (item 330099556569 end time Mar-22-07 22:17:50 PDT) was wrong...Just registered for the CRXC website. I'll look around for that thread.
