Newbie Here....
Sup all, just signed up for the website, looks pretty cool. No, I don't own a Crx, but I hope to find one cheap and trick it out. ( Who doesn't? ) I've been looking mainly for the Si-Series because I feel those are better to get but it isn't completely true, correct? I know a few things about CRX's but your input would be greatly appreciated. I live in Arizona so there is an abundance of them here, its just most are either overpriced for a stock Si, or they are too beat up to even try and buy for a kid in Highschool... I would LOVE to resto one so bad, its just hard to when you work and are in highschool....money isnt really......pouring in. If anyone wants to gimme input , lemme know. Thanks.
** EDIT ** Also, send me links of your current CRX's and projects, they would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome!!! You can start by looking through my build album (the link is in my signature). As for SIs, I have always thought them to be the best place to start, but nowadays with the abundance of swaps, glass roof conversions, etc. you really can buy which ever model you want and work up from there. I think you said it correct though..... try to find one that hasn't been abused. It's always better to start your project on a clean slate rather than fix someone else's BS first.

Hey, thanks all for the feedback...Yeah there has always been an interest for me to buy one ever since I saw one coast by me...I was wondering how much I should spend on a clean on then seeing being 17 and all this will not be easy to get money for one...I work at Best Buy so when I do get money I can put a sick system in my car for next to nothing but the job isnt the best pay, nor are the hours good...I'm not from the Hills and my parents think I should stick with my 88 Civic Lx Auto..( Zippy little sleeper itself ) so I am on my own with this project. I love my Civic, But my heart is with the Rex's......:P
But ya using my discount I have a $1400 system lined up for my future CRX and I walk away with it for only $600 ^-^....What I was thinking is if I could get lined up full-time in a parts shop for cars this summer given I pass highschool. Thanks all for the excellent feedback!
Peace

dont worry about the system. save up your money until you can afford the crx you want. its better to have a stock stereo and a car you like than to have a piece of shit with a nice system. get what I mean?

I agree with those guys. Just buy whichever you find that is the cleanest.
Also, keep in mind that buying someone else's finished project will be cheaper than doing yourself only without the satisfaction of doing it yourself.
Welcome to the board!

dont waste your money on a system, save those pennies for a clean crx or better yet fix up the civic lx. do an engine and 5 speed swap fix the body if there is anything wrong with it and go from there.

True, true. I guess I'm not thinking smart yet....My Civic is nice, but its just a beater...its Auto but thats all it will ever be...And When I joined the site the first thing I did was saw your webpage with the documentaries of you working on your CRX.....looks nice.....so it was Black then Red? I think I want a Grey/Gunmetal one...that or maybe Red or White.....god many colors make them look nice...and you guys want some good Eye Candy....Ef8's.....I would so keep those stock and clean..... YouTube - JDM EF CRX/CIVIC SLIDESHOW Enjoy....(music: "kenji" fort minor / linkin park) If anyone else has any pictures of their projects lemme know, nice work on the webpage by the way.
