Fast and Fugly CRX at Barber in-car video (someone elses)
Well I didn't have camera weekend before last but an instructor in his mustang (modded but six banger) caught me on tape including me screwing up a corner entry to turn 14 at Barber. I was having too much fun and stayed in the throttle tool long. I gathered it up though. I let the mustang by (like I should since I lost so much speed) and then went back by on the next straight. All in good fun. Since his video is youtube for the world to see I don't see the problem pointing to it hear. The engine sounded good. Too bad it is hurt now.
I show up at about 4:02 in the video.

Good stuff, but actually for a 2000 Mustang GT that car was pretty fast. It wasn't even a Cobra. Barry, what did that guy do to his car?? It must be completely stripped with some mods as well. You do battle with Elises and what have you so for that guy to hang even that close was fairly impressive (for a Mustang I mean )

I always love track vids. Was i the only one that thought the car was gonna shoot off the side of the track a couple of times?

You know I don't know actually. It had mods from what I understand and I think he might have gone into the bottom end to do some stuff but I don't know. The car did run well though. I passed the Mustang three times. Once before this guy where he put up the video and on another occasion (IIRC). In the video after I pass him and I get to the end of the back straight I get behind a white nissan 240SX which is Ricky, a good friend of mine. From the turn sequence from the end of the back straight all the way until I pass Ricky on the front straight, I am backed off of my pace. Ricky's car is stock spring, stock shocks, stock motor, cheap NAPA brake pads (stinky), but Kumho V710s. Ricky is a very good driver, his car does not have a bunch of go fast mods and Ricky is just learning the track. In other words, when the Mustang closes up on me in the turn sequence before the front straight, I am just waiting for a pass on Ricky. What I would have liked for him to show is more footage after the pass on Ricky because I pulled away from the Mustang.
The guy I was duking it out with the track event before that had an exige and we were neck and neck he came back with his former 350Z track car (unknown mods but mods) and damn it he was faster. I was not able to bump up against him but once that weekend and that was when the ambient temps were pretty cold and he got right up my butt on the warm up lap (and his heavier car warm up the tires real quickly) and pass me on the first green lap. I could not push it on lap two. On lap three when I finally had heat in my tires to where I did not feel like I was on ice, I was able to stablize the gap and then we got into traffic. He is selling the Lotus becuase he is faster in the Z.

The Zs are wicked cars when setup right. I'm still a novice but I pride myself on the fact that I have only been passed once and that was by....... a G35 coupe (mods and driven by an instructor )
