guage cluster
this question is specifically for those of you who have done cluster swaps
im doing the gsr cluster conversion in my '88 and i really want it to read the correct milage.
unfortunately, if my calculations are right i'd have to leave a drill spinning in the back of it for 11 solid days to gain the milage i need.
does anyone know if there is an easier way to do this?
i know i've heard stories of people rolling numbers forward with a screwdriver.. and im pretty sure this does damage if you go backwards, but would it hurt it if i went forwards?

If you go to a dealer, they can set a new gauge with your current milage, otherwise there are some shops around that reset the gauge without buying a new one.

It can be done, I've done it on my cluster(s). It requires a strong level of confidence and a willingness to throw the whole thing away if you screw it up.
I can't explain how to do it for obvious reasons but it is a little tricky. All I can say is DON'T USE A SCREW DRIVER!!
If you send me the gauge I can do it for about $30- plus shipping. Shoot me a PM.

The Honda dealer in the Milwaukee area wanted to charge me over $400, partly because it's a DOT violation if you don't have accurate milage for you vehicle.
Best bet is send it to John, as a dealer, he has a few tricks
