too many choices

ive really been trying to decide lately what i want to do with my car

its not necessarily a daily driver, but its a street car, and my goals are very realistic
I know i want to stay d-series, and i want to hit 13.999
n/a is more money than its worth, so im debating a jrsc setup
heres where i need some suggestions
motor has 167k miles on it, and could use to have the head looked at.
car runs good and the bottom end should be no problem, but the head is noisy as hell...
sooooooo do i
A.) pull the head, have it checked out, from there
B.) pick up a used a6 head for pocket change
c.) go y8 mini me and obd1
D.) buy a low mile a6 from h-motors maybe.

im really not sure what my best option here is.
i basically dont care about the motor much. so i wouldnt mind throwing another a6 head on it and jrsc until i beat the shit out of it.....
but at the same time it seems like a waste to throw the setup on a bare a6 when obd1/y8 head would be a better starting platform

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

shhh

but on a more serious note...
i'd think reasonable boost on a jrsc setup would be safe on a stock motor, im pretty sure the d-series setups arent that extreme to begin with.... but throwing nitrous in the mix too, with no internal work..... recipe for disaster? or no.

and should i throw it together on my current motor first and see how it takes it, before i go swapping heads and dumping money into it?
at least if i fuck something up i wont care.

i still think you should look for a z6 or y8 and just drop that in running obd1.

Your head is probably noisey because you vavles probably need adjusted, I would start there.

Boost with nitrous is good, but you just need a small shot. 25 shot will be worth 50-60hp due to how much the air charge will be cooled down

They've been adjusted about 3 times by 3 different people. It helped a little, but I think the head is just worn out personally.

haha. yeah the valves have definitely been tried (several times)
and i spent about 20 minutes listening around the motor, poking a screwdriver on the injectors and listening.... and from what i can tell the noise is definitely coming from the right side of the head, not the injectors.
1st or 2nd cyl i believe.
