Exclamation Like a few suggestions.

Alright, the other day, driving down the road, POW goes the diff.

So I'm figuring, yeah, I can just throw a tranny from a dohc ZC in here and blast away. OR (what i'm gunna do) I can pull the whole thing and do a turbo/y8 conversion for cheap, and run on that until my GSR is finished.

Just a couple of questions.

#1 What ECU will I need for the Y8 swap.
#2 Will i need to convert to OBD1
#3 what would be good injectors to go with for around 10-12 pounds of boost(Probably going with arias pistons, 8.5:1, and an eagle block girdle, crower rods)
#4 will the dohc ZC tranny even be proper for this? or should I go with a DX version for the longer gears?

I'm not asking you guys to plot my course. I have the course laid in, just needing a little advice/brainstorming as it were, to help me on my path.

Throw some info out here, please.

Thanks guys,

Dave

1. I'd go with the p28 running obd1. You could also go the turboedit/pm6 route but i don't know a lot about that setup.
2. You don't have to convert to obd1. You could run an a6 distributor, 1 wire o2 sensor, and either run the obd2 injectors or obd0 with the resistor pack.
3. Crap, not sure. How much hp are you looking at with 10-12 psi? That'd be a lot easier to estimate.
4. What are you using the car for? You're most likely not to run out of gear with an Si tranny. ZC... doubt it also but i can't remember offhand what they top out at. Si is around 140 mph i think at 7000 rpm 5th gear so even with low 11 second timeslips your not running out of gear. DX is a little long but is the same ratios as an Si with a different final drive so if you have a DX tranny you could just swap FD's.

looking to put over 200 at the ground on a D series. Its about time people around here see a good D

If i have an obd1 p28, how would that run the obd0 engine? just a question.

For an obd1 conversion you need a 4 wire o2 sensor, obd1/obd2 distributor, conversion harness (if you don't want to make your own), and a obd1 ecu. If you're swapping in a p28 you'll have 1/2 of the parts already.

Looks like you'd need 370cc or bigger injectors for 200whp. Here is the formula page for sizing injectors: http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm
