You're STILL making power at 8500!
Hmmmmmm...........interesting.

My numbers are down because I'm at a much higher altitude. Air Densities range from 2000-5000ft where I am (depending on temperature). Ussually it is around 3000ft. Corrected to sea level I'm around 295whp (0 air density). I'm also at the limits of the blower which doesn't help.
I've tunned at the track, over 50 odd runs. I dropped my 1/4 mile times by 1.3 seconds. When I hit the dyno the other day every change we made at the dyno lost power. I'm sure there are a couple hp to pick up with more tunning, but I'm pretty close.

Wow!!!! I'm so glad you came to visit us and I hope you stick around!!
I guess altitude explains it BIG TIME!! I'm at sea level or there about.
anyway.......for everyone else this is exactly what I just posted on HT....
........OK guys....I just got off the phone with Larry. We spoke for about an hour!! and yes, he is very particular about certain setups. He has talked me out of the 92mm crank as he insisted the rods will be too short. He said he can sell me longer rods but we would have to put the pin up in the oil rings. RMC already said that's a bad idea and Larry confirmed by telling me I will consume oil.
So with Larry's concern over rod length and EVERYONE'S concern about blower CFM I have arrived with this. BTW.......Endyn blowers max out at 16500RPM as per Larry.
Current setup plan.....
86bore x 89stroke = 2068cc
11:1 cr
rod length = 5.31 ( 137.87mm)
rod ratio = 1.52
CFM calculations:
2068cc = 127.409CID
127.409 x 8600 (planned redline) / 3456 = 317.05 CFM (na)
9.0psi = 1.612
10psi = 1.68
at 9psi and 100% ve ( 317.05 x 1.612 ) = 511.08 CFM
at 10psi and 100% ve ( 317.05 x 1.68 ) = 532.64 CFM
corrected ve of 90% (still too efficient):
9psi = 460CFM
10psi = 479.38
Standard M62 will be over spun by:
9psi - 102%
10psi - 106%
Non-ported blower will most likely handle this (right at the limit)
Endyn blower should be no problem.
By using my current setup and Veris's I figure I should be easily over 200ft/lbs of torque and around 300whp.
Thoughts please

Interesting idea, however you would have to retune, mount my intercooler, and go through all the space/firewall problems I had.
.....ok enough excuses......I'm scared of your wife

Thanks for the welcome.
Most of my "voodoo" can be found here:
http://www.ftlracing.com/tech/index.html
Not a lot of supercharged stuff as I ran NA for years, but much of it overlaps.
JADKAR - thanks for the welcome. I didn't reply to the pager as I don't have permissions yet. re: 50 posts.

Then I looked at the site and all the specs and technical details. To say the least, he's not losing!!!

OMG...Will's light weight CRX with an turbo ITR engine .....who do you think would win?????
Not even a contest at least in the 1/4. Road course may be different but I would still have my hands full.

A GT28 is the ONLY turbo I would use...........but it will never happen in this car so let's continue to plan on spending John's money here......not mine.

Ok, fine, I'll say it...How about a twin charger setup? A nice GT28RS or a smaller KKK turbo to spool you into the most efficient range of the S/C, blow off the turbo at 5000 RPMs and ride the 10lbs of the S/C all the way to redline...
Not that acceleration was an issue in the old RIO but especially if you're going to be doing road racing I think you'd enjoy the torque all over the powerband. That opens up a whole new world of gearing and traction issues but it's not over your head.

I already thought about a twin charger but I would use it the other way around.
Use the SC to build boost down low and then bleed into the turbo for the upper CFM restrictions that the blower is starting to have. A few issues...
1) I have no more room under my hood, especially for the IC and the neccessary switch over valves to make the dual charger work.
2) I want to retain my AC
3) Car would get even heavier.
4) Overkill for my application
Then there is money. As it is this set back may run me around 5K so I can't imagine building a dual blower setup on top of it.

FTL in this case stands for faster than light cause I'm a geek. I knicked named my car red shift; my car is red. re: expansion of the universe, red shifting of the sprectrum, and the only method of being "FTL". re: not through speed but by expansion.
For those non-super geeks I just say: FTL can also stand for Full Throttle Launch.
