Vovchandr Build Thread
It seems like jadkar was having all the fun around this place with his project, so I'll join in with mine.
This will be a T-J exclusive. I will keep all the updates and new stories here, to keep off flooding the board and keep everything concentrated.
Here is how it all started...
I was 16.5, with a VERY tight budget (I had to loan out 1500$ to buy the car, and then 6 months later of working in McD's I payed it off) and was looking for a car for a while. Looking at all different kinds of cars and models, then a classmate of mine mentioned that his dad was selling a car for his uncle, who left it here to sell (lives in the city). So after asking around about it I found out that it was a 1989 Black Si with 170K on the clock. At the time I knew a little bit about CRX's, and I knew that I wanted a 90/91 Si, and the 89 was "inferior" and I didn't want it. Also the dad was asking 2K after I came to look at it.
So about a month later they say they will let it go for 1500$, and I agreed.
Here is what it looked like back in the day. (About june '04).
At the time I was absolutly in love with the car, but I knew it could be better.
For about a year, I've had all sorts of adventures with it, from learning how to drive on the road, and what not to do anymore that causes you to fly off the road. To having 5 people in the CRX (I've had 3 people in it dozens of times).
Just as i've had it for about 7 months, i've installed a real budget stereo setup (no pics) with my hard earned 6.25$ an hour money. 115 Pioneer deck, sub/amp/box new speakers etc. The car gets robbed. It's like 10am, saturday morning, my brother runs into the room telling me that stupid me left the window down, and we had a snowstorm over night. So as im waking up im thinking... "No I didn't... I don't think I did", as i walk over to the car (apartment parking lot), I see the window is down so i'm thinking "maybe I did after all". As I come closer I see like a foot of snow in the car and glass everywhere and my system gone.
Here is the twist, karma is a bitch and it comes back to ya. A few months later I found out who did it (a classmate), he did it as "practice" for the "big game cars" but there was nothing I could do about it. Well just last week I've found out that he's been drinking a driving and crashed his car. Badly messed himself up, injured the girl in the passenger seat, and killed the passenger in the rear who hasnt been buckled up.
But back to the build.
After reinstalling a new system, I've decided to do the boser hood set-up or the "mean looking hood".
So I went out and bought a hood - 70$

It's sitting in paint right now.
On my Birthday I saw a CRX for sale locally, 90si, a guy wanted 300$ for it so I knew I had to call him. He said all it needed is a radiator, which was true. Interior was basically mint.
Got it for myself basically as a birthday present. Right now it's sitting mostly striped, because I'm turning it into a track rat, while all the good parts off it are on the 89Si (the dash, bumper etc 90/91 parts).
Pics soon to come: Finished hood
90/91 bumper with Password JDM lip
Near complete turbo kit
and more!
Edit: I'll continue tomorow with more pictures, my stupid host is dead, and I'm on dialup so I'm not re-uploading the pictures to a new one, it will take like a month.
Yes jadkar, my picture quality sucks, hater! :P
So my first 2 cars are both CRX's and im only 18 right now.
I know my project isnt nearly as cool as jadkars, but I try. Plus its more realistic because most of can actually do it.

I got it off H-T classifieds, there are tons of htem for sale there at any point in time.
Once I get the motor I'l probably upgrade to T3/T4 anyway, I need something that will be effiecient and make power to 9 grand
As far as pics not working, we all know that my host sucks, and sucks bad
Front Mount and some piping...
Some other goodies
A few minor items are in the mail, the others I still have to order.

i have two going on my crx and my 83 civic wagon, i just pulled the front bumper off the wagon and now trying to figure out what to put there. i think i might put a piece of sheet metal there and drill some holes into it so i can get air to the radiator or try to find another bumper, also trying to find some fender mirrors

Well today is a day of mixed feelings, at one point i was completlely thinking of just getting out of the scene, it got that bad.
I dont buy myself anything, literally, I'll think twice about buying a 5$ item, but for some reason I see no problem spending 400$ for a set of pipes and a down pipe.
I'm not sure at this point.
Keep you updated...

mmm more stuff
more crappy pictures
My 14b compared to a bigger turbo, My turbo will completely fit in the intake housing of the bigger one. Crazy.
Password JDM fiberglass lip
Horrible pic of the EK side skirts
System
Guage pod
Apline in-dash Tv flip out screen
Mint 90/91 Si pass seat
Evasive Motorsport Short throw, "I <3 My Honda" sticker, and 450CC DSM injectors, and Energy Suspension Bushings
All these parts waiting in my room waiting for it to get warmer outside so I can install them.
At this point my room is pretty much dominated by the CRX. And im also getting a hood and a bumper within a week.

Man I went thru the same shit a few weeks ago. Honestly you should just go and by yourself something. Money comes and goes. I just bought myself a new cell phone, some jeans, and a couple shirts. I needed that, and it felt good to finally have some new stuff. Then payday came yesterday and I'm back to where I was before, so it's not so bad.
