TPS - Code 7

What would cause this? I've had it before and it only seems to come on occasionally and when really running the car hard. It came on in the middle of my run last night at the track. Why in the world do I have this re-occurring code? The TPS is calibrated properly and everything is properly installed. Could a possible nicked wire cause an unstable voltage(?) and make the ecu confused and throw the code? I'm just grabbing for straws here trying to figure this out. I thought it was all voltage regulated.

Sometimes when people do that they have ground issues until they run a driect ground from the neg teminal directly to the ecu.

It sounds kinda like a ground problem to me, have you done tps sweeps real slow to see if there is any holes in the voltage, and have you checked the voltage at closed and wide open throttle, also check the difference in voltage when you use the ground for the tps, then body ground, then engine ground and see how much it varys

Good idea. I never checked for holes, just closed and WOT. I haven't noticed any hesitation, but you might be on to something with the grounding.

Generaly with TPS problems you do this:
1.Closed throttle voltage
2.WOT voltage, if eaither of those is off you adjust then go drive and see what happends, if they are fine then you:
3.TPS sweep, if that comes back good, then you can try to find a fluke with graph cabaility and then do a sweep again(a lot easier to find spikes and holes that way) or start checking grounds.
At that point a flow chart would probably tell you to replace the TPS with a good one and if that didn't fix it then it would probably suggest replacing the ecu.
Damn I feel like I'm in my seinor year of school again
