XLR8's Build Thread
Well now it's my turn to make one of these!

You all know what my car looks like so I'm not gonna post pics again. If you don't know, see my sig. Anyways, the car is an '89 CR-X si. Right now she is powered by a SOHC ZC non VTEC with I/H/E done. The plan is to go mini me, and as of lately I have been concidering turbo. But that is another story, and more money I don't know if I have yet. I am for sure starting the mini me right away as I have all the parts I need for it now.

So for now, here are the pics of my stock pile of parts.

Everything Layed Out


Rebuilt Y8 head. Ported and Milled 0.003


Virgin P28 from a '95 Civic EX-V


Gaskets, T-Belt


ARP Head Bolts


Y8 Distributor and NGK Plug Wires


Skunk2 Stage 1 Camshaft


Skunk2 Adjustable Cam Gear


Type R Style Leather 13" Wheel


CTR Shift Boot


Type R Style Shift Knob




And there you have it! The only thing missing is my Sparco wheel hub, which I will have in a week. Thanks for looking

^ that extra cam gets really expensive i know. Looking good so far keep us updated on the priject and maybe a diy on making a mini me?

Whatever work I do myself I will do a write up for. There are some things better left for the pros (ex. wiring). Also, I have a limited amount of tools. As far as a completion ETA, it all depends on my work schedule. I work 5-7 days per week, and I work in a kitchen, so I don't have set off times, I just get cut when it slows down. It's hard to tell when and how long I can work on her. I am hoping to have the mini me done within 2-3 weeks from now. Just waiting on my next pay cheque, and talking to some local guys about the swap and wiring. As everything goes on the car, new pics will be added
