My wipers died today in a storm???
I was in a rain storm today and all the sudden my wipers went all the way to the left and the driver side wiper rested on my mirror. What happened? I stopped and put them back down, turned them back on and back they went to the mirror. I did this twice and both time I heard a "KLUNK" up in the dash. It was a metal on metal sound. Something broke or a bolt/nut has come loose. How do I get to the mechanics of the wipers? I'm pretty sure it is something mechanical and not electrical...the motor works well enough to throw the wipers accross the windshield but they don't go back down.
Has this happened to anyone?
How do you fix it?
Driving in the rain with no wipers is not cool!!!

yeah it happened to me awhile back, the rods that mover the wiper arms came disconnected. pull the wiper cowl off and check to see if thats what happened. if you click on the site below and enlarge the picture
https://www.hondapartsdeals.com/hond...omponent=B++14
parts 6 and 7 most likely broke from being old and worn out thats what broke on my wiper assembly

Thanks for the website and info!!! I tore into the assembly today and found that Part #6 (Dust Seal) was cracked. It looks more like a ball joint cap. It broke right at the motor. I am going to Honda this week to buy 3...just in case. I need some new cowl clips too. Thanks again. You were right on.

i assume this is what you meant by website, but heres what i found anyway.
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...=FRONT +WIPER
i'd say that'd be the easiest way to go. ive ordered through majestic honda and their shipping was on time. plus the part is cheap here. i know usually at MY local dealership the stuff is more expensive than majestic.

Your pic is exactly what I need. But when I ordered those numbers from that website I got some rubber dust boots. I need the white plastic ball joint cap. Where can I find one of those?
The part I need (the one in the pic) is not shown on the parts diagram.
Help!!!

Part #9 is the one I need. The plastic connectors are fused to the ends of the rod. I got my hands on a used one. If it dies I will buy a new one.
I have wipers again!!!
