So guess what I did today
Ordered some parts! Haha
Skunk2 Stage 1 street/strip camshaft for D16Y8
Skunk2 adjustable cam gear (red of course)
The reason I got stage 1 over 2 or 3 is because this is a daily drive, and I can not afford nor need new springs and retainers. The head this is going on is rebuilt so it has brand new OEM springs and retainers. Also, after doing much research I have come to believe that the Skunk2 is probably the most aggressive stage 1 available.
This is going to take 3 weeks to get to me, but once they come the head swap begins. I got my write ups, and I have a dude to do wiring. It shall be sweet

No. This is going to be a high compression N/A setup.

 B18c (R)'s FTW!!
Sounds like you're going to have a nice little SOHC there.

Thanks man! I do agree on B18C FTW. If I ever go B series, it will be a 1.8l. I have just as much torque as a B16 with my ZC.

As soon as i read the title i wanted to say "ate an ostrich burger"
I've been considering getting a zex 59300 cam for my setup for a while. Eventually, it'll happen.

Yeah SOHC ZC. I almost bought one of those, but it says it's for a Z6, and I'm pretty sure they're interchangeable, but I decided to go Skunk2 anyways. I've heard/read that their stage 1 is the strongest stage 1 available. Maybe not so much in higher stages, but that's not what I want.

If i remember correctly the z6 and y8 cams are interchangable as long as you use the appropriate cam gear. I'd have to check but i swear i read that somewhere.

Well the main reasons are 1. I don't have enough money for a valvetrain kit and 2. I have new OEM springs and retainers which I want to make use of. Just out of curiosity, does AEM even make a SOHC cam?

I'm 99% sure you're right and I read it on Honda-Tech.

* Cam gears sold individually.
* DOHC applications require purchase of two(2) cam gears.
straight off the AEM website.
and that's for 5 bolt adjustable cam gears.
check it out
http://www.aempower.com/product_cam.asp
there are 3 and 5 bolts.

Oh haha I thought you meant the camshaft. Well I got a Skunk2 cam gear because that's the camshaft I got. AEM is good shit though.
