I love that bumper! Can't wait to see your finished product.
For some reason, maybe it's the lighting but the mesh looks kind of funny.
Also, there is a group buy in the making on HT in the EF forum for FI CF hoods to be made. Pricey but I'm not sure what kind of money you are looking to spend. Someone said the Vis CF hoods are extremely hard to get. Dunno if Jadkar had any problems getting one though.

3 weeks to get mine, but time was on my side (for once). I'll tell you though....the ViS quality is better then some of the NSX stuff I've seen!!

I completely agree. Your hood looks good and fits well. I've also noticed that some people just tend to pick one company (either FI or VIS) and insist that it's BETTER and that the other is junk. I think both companies make good hoods that fit well. I like the non-underwebbing of the FI hoods though, but wouldn't hesitate to buy a VIS hood if I found one for a good price like I found my FI hood

kindof off topic, but on the topic of hoods...
jadkar ive heard some stuff about CF hoods warping when used without hoodpins
like starting to rise in the middle so that they dont follow the body lines exactly.
is this false information, or are you taking the risk to have the clean look of no hoodpins?

Well, with me time will tell. It may depend on which one you get.
I know 88 Rex's hood is a FI and it doesn't have the webbing on the bottom side (I know this because it was mine ). I know that he needed hood pins, but I don't believe it was from warping. I think it was flapping around and he was concerned about it becoming dangerous (smart man). Actually all the manufactures of these hoods tell you to run hood pins anyway (for liability). This doesn't mean his hood is no good, actually the smooth underbottom of his hood is quite disireable.
Mine, from ViS is a direct replica. Meaning it has the webbing, the cut outs for the squirters, it even has the same recessed area to the right of the latch for the SiRs intake vent. Now, this comes at a increased weight. I know for a fact the FI hood was lighter than my current hood. But, I don't need to run hood pins. Don't get confused however, I'm not so certain this is because my hood is stronger. I think it maybe because I opted to spend 2 hours re-attaching the factory hood lip seal. I also spent another 2 hours getting the hood bumpers on. These two bumpers keep the hood firmly against the chassis and the seal helps keep airflow out from under the hood.
Again, as far as them warping.........we'll have to see.

Yea, I had a few issues with the latch coming loose and catching on the safety mechanism while driving. The edges tended to vibrate in the wind a little bit and that, along with it coming loose twice, made me nervous. So I opted for the pins. I also believe that I may have had the latch slightly off but there is no way to know. I tried adjusting it but I ended up coming back to the same starting point, so I think it's where it needs to be. I don't know if John had any problems with it when he had it.....although I'm not sure it saw much road when he had it
Yea, the FI hoods are lighter than the Vis hoods due to that underwebbing, but I would be willing to say that the Vis hoods would be slightly stronger due to the webbing. You just can't beat the room under the FI hood without that webbing though

yeah i plan on removing the mesh and placing an intercooler in there to fill the space up. and as far as seeing bare metal if it's on the driver side fender i don't care because i'm replacing it as soon as i can find one for less than $100 shipped i paid about $430 shipped from the u.k.

i believe the shop i bought it from ordered it from vis, i gave them the part number. it's made out of the urathane/fiberglass so it's pretty flexable, i gave it a little twist before installing it. it also had the markings where to cut out for the bumper lens tabs and also where to drill for the mounting holes for the side
