Moon's build thread
Since everybody else has one :P.
Heres the plan, not put into action yet, but still trying to decide if best.
I'm going to go with
Engine: DOHC ZC ($700 shipped)
Tranny: Stage 1 clutch and lightweight flywheel ($235 shipped)
Suspension: Omni-Power full coils (D2 & F2 would take me out of budget) ($650 shipped)
Wheels: Rota J-Mags (my #1 fav Rota next to GT-3 and the Panasport looking ones) ( $350 estimate price, could be as high as $400)
I'm guessing this is going to come out to $1935.
Please Help with:
Anyway I can get cost lower? I'm flexible in the suspension and tranny departments.
hmm, now that I've gotten it down to $1935

June 24th if I'm not terribly busy. I took up two summer classes to increase my GPA!
In looking at the coilovers, it's actually cheaper to go with a whole coilover set up than to go with struts and springs. I originally wanted to go Bielstein + Progress or Ground Control coils. But that would put me just below $650. I figured why not go for adjustablility.

A place on Ebay my friend ordered his from. It was $595 for the engine & tranny, and the $200 shipped to a business with a loading dock in NC from TX.

what kind of car is this going into?! if you have an SI, that would be perfect and there is only 1 thing you have to change for the wiring, and thats on the dizzy cap. go to www.thezcr.com there is an article there that tells you how to swap the wires from dizzy to dizzy. i for one have the SOHC ZC. and i just dropped it in had to change the tranny from one engine to the other UGH what a pain in the ass. also a pain in my lower back. lol if you need any help with anything just let me know.

lol Alright I will.
I've been debating this swap for years (literally). I shouldn't have any problems doing the swap, the only problem I have is if I want to do a hybrid tranny. I've never messed with swapping gears in trannsmissions. Then again I could just sell the tranny and make some money back.

I'd like to see some more feedback on this too, because this is a similar route I'm going to do on mine after the wedding.

I've got some secrets, but I though why not make a link anyhow.
The Rota's i'm buying off a friend who said he'll sell them to me cheap. The ZC I'm going to order from where he bought his from. In exchange for giving me the website on where to buy it from he made me promise not to tell anyone.
