oh that's right, the CRX speakers are on the side, as compared to the 4th gen which had them in the rear deck. getting my hondas confused.

hmmmm i just use my stock speaker locations, i get all my bass from my subs since its in a small area. the only thing that sucks about the rear stock locations is, its free air. my subs produce real good SPL, so i'm good to go with 4 speakers in my car. 5 1/4" in the front and 6.5" in the back. love them so much.

Oh man I have been looking for these forever!!! Someone on Honda-Tech was going to make some, but the thread just kinda died... Anyways, these are so sweet I want to order a pair as well. I'd probably want to sell my sub/amp and get some nice speakers with a smaller amp to put in the cargo holder.

its been less than a week since me and njn63 were talking about trying to make a set of these. I wonder how hard it would really be.

At the price this guy is selling them for your project would probably not be worth it. Buy these

if you want more bang for your buck, literally, get yourself a set of 10" subs in a sealed enclouser. better yet, build yourself a fiberglass box, aim the subs towards the glass, this way the sound waves will hit the glass and will travel towards the front of the car. i guess another way of doing it, is if these tubes have enough surface area, then you can get yourself a set of 8" subs, if not then you can just use some fiberglass to widen the surface area to make the enclouser feasible. anything is possible if you put your mind to it!

1. Subs/amps are heavy
2. They take up a lot of hatch space
3. Anything more than a single 10" is too much and not necessary
4. Unless the sub was sitting straight up and closer to the taillights, it will not send sound towards the front. The angle wont work right.
I have a 10" and it's nice, sounds good for all types of music. Anything more than that is stupid unless you like bullshit music like Lil Jon with constant, simplistic bass lines that give me headaches. These tubes act like those 8" subwoofer bass tubes, but for a speaker. I bet you anything a set of Alpine Type X 6.5" in those tubes would sound just as good as my sub.

i have 2 JL 6w0 subs under my bed just begging for those. When you get yours jadkar, you'll have to measure the opening on them because i'm really curious as to if they'll fit. They're supposed to be 6.5" but they're a little bigger than 6.5" speakers.
Just what i need to do, make my car HEAVIER. I'd actually like to only put in 1 of them but it'd be weird i'd think.
And to add to your list xlr8, subs take up room. I occasionally carry my bike in my car so i can give up absolutly no trunk space. I might actually have to move my fire extinguisher to the side just to have enough room for it, ugh.

The frequency that comes out of a sub woofer is low enough that it is non-directional. Meaning no matter where you put it you will not be able to distinguish it's location. This is why in home theaters you can put the sub in a wide range of locations. Now if you were talking about something in the high frequency range, like a tweeter then yes they are very directional and actually need to be aimed for best results. I mounted my Alpine tweeters in my right & left air vents back in 1992 and they are still there. In this location I can use the vent fins to aim the tweeters towards the occupants and they are very stealth

These are clearly the greatest $140 one could spend to upgrade their sound.
