So i gotta 91 CRX SI with the D16A6 with 150k miles
and the guy i bought it off of has put another head on it,
but its all messed up and 1 spark plug wont come out of it,

So would a Y8 head make a difference or should i just get a A6 Head
I have money and this isnt my Daily Driver So Gimme some suggestions
I just want to get it running Good so i can take it to Drag strip and run it till it blows, then K20 it
I seen the mini Me swap thread so just tell me if its the same Deal
And What OBD is the my 91 Rex ?
Any Help is appreciated

i'd just find a d16a6 or d15b2 head since you just want to get by. The only difference between the 2 is the cam if i remember right.

A Z6 head might be easier, if you want to go that route. I think i'd get a DOHC ZC, but that's just me.

Why would you care to "just get by" if you plan to "drop in a K20"? If you actually have the funds and know how to do that swap, fuck the d series man. Otherwise, I'd try and find an A6 or SOHC ZC head (check ebay or craigslist) for now. A Y8 head is a good choice, but wiring isn't a walk in the park. Not to mention ECU change, wire harness (changing from OBD0-1) and new valve cover, gaskets, t.belt.

i wouldnt put a d-series in, i would just take out what you have and drop in the k20, why spend more money than you have to on the car.

Another thing to consider when doing a head swap. Is just buy the whole motor. For the extra $50 you can usually buy it all together. And d series engine are a dime a dozen. Just a thought

just build a new motor, depending on your budget . you can get 150 whp with a d series, or be really cool, by doing a k series , or trendy by doing a b series. doing a mini me head swap is one simple swap and can be a quick motor! good luck with what you decide

Good luck with that, seriously. Just because you find a K cheap at a scrap yard doesn't mean the swap will be that much cheaper. Oh and I'll tell you right now you will not have fun doing wiring, and probably fuck something up. I would pay to get it done right, or you'll pay more getting it fixed. Swapping in a K series is hard in a new car like an EK, but into an old ass car like a CR-X, with the small engine bay, is hard stuff. I'm prettu sure I've never seen a K swapped EF with a hood that can come close to closing.
