Well....... someone will end up driving RIO down the track probably. I want someone lighter then me to give it a shot, plus I want to hear what she sounds like.
So far I think the guy who is driving the furthest is Vlad (vovchandr) and I have a feeling he's a skinny guy so maybe he'll be taking a hot pass. I'm thinking of the guy who drives the furthest will get to take a spin.

Well if thats the case, I might just have to drive up from Florida. What are you looking to save though, a tenth? If it meant the difference between 12's or 11's then yes go for it, but Id say drive your car. Even if you cant, maybe you've never launched from a tree, who cares, its your baby have fun with it. Thats only my $0.02.

Oh, I'm definitely gonna run her and yes drag racing is totally new to me. I'm gonna try a few things. I think launching from 2nd gear is gonna give me the best results. The car bogs for a split second and then takes off, when she hits 4K she starts chirping the the tires and that goes all the way to red line. If I launch from first it's really a waste, I may leave the line slightly faster, but I have to baby the crap out of it and then waste time shifting. The only problem is I can't launch hard from second gear. I have to be easy with my clutch and bog her out. She may take a 5K drop but I'm too afraid to try it, plus she bogs so slightly that it's not even noticeable (thanks to the CRXs light weight) On the street it's pretty insane, I've gone against a few non-contenders and the start from second is definitely the best. She hasn't been beat yet..... but I'm looking for a nice C5 or 911 to have some fun with.
Anyway, I'm hoping for low 12s, or maybe if the gods are favoring me Saturday very high 11s. I did speak to Jeff Evans again about my increase in boost. He thinks that with 9.5-10.0 psi of boost RIO is most likely producing 285-290whp He is also afraid that my air/fuel may be out of whack now. Because of that I upped my fuel pressure slightly.

Bear in mind that the track will have far superior grip coming out of the box than on the street. Good tracks should have good track prep, and E-town is a good track
Have fun
