RIO has become mythical in my eyes tonight
OK, I'm not gonna make a big deal about street racing. I'm not gonna stand on my soap box and scream that I'm against it. I'm a realist, and I think everyone at some time has done some street racing (at least the law would say you have). I used to be a complete lunatic in High School, now I'm just half a lunatic I don't get involved with stupid "crowded highway" type stuff. However, I have to admit if it's dark and deserted and someone tries to roll on me I usually give in. No crazy extended mileage, through traffic, and other vehicles type racing. Just the quick stints up to 5th or something. All the really crazy crap I save for the track.
OK.....with that out of the way. RIO became mythical (at least in my eyes) tonight. She did something that I always thought to be the "end all be all" of a street prepared car.
I was coming up RtXX in XXXXX, NJ tonight (around dusk). No traffic on the road, this particular road is a 2 lane 55mph highway. The highway goes uphill for about 4 miles. During this time I was minding my own business and out of nowhere a motorcycle pull up behind me. I'm doing about 65-70mph, he pulls from behind me and starts pacing me right at my drivers door. He sits there for about 5-10 seconds, and I'm like.... "well, I'm gonna loose but what the hell!!". I drop down to 4th (probably could have down 3rd) and I stomp it. The bike jumps on it as well. I'm expecting the obvious....taillights. But instead I glance over at him and he is tucked behind the windscreen looking very tense and confused. I blasted all the way through 4th (111mph) when I shifted to 5th I held it for about 2 more seconds and let out. This was insane, the poor dude couldn't pull away from me, we were neck and neck all the way to 111mph. Of course you can't see much because he has a helmet on, but I'll tell you there was a sense of urgency in his actions. He was tucked way behind his windscreen and when he shifted the whole bike lurched, he was definitely in the throttle. What's better is after the little duel he never passed me, he just sat behind, probably with his ego a little bruised. I had to get off at my exit and he continued by. It was dark, and I couldn't make out is bike completely but I know it said CBR up near the tank, and on the bottom it said F4. So I believe it was a Honda CBR 600 F4. Not the fastest things in the world, but I looked them up and they still tick off 11.2 @ 124mph in the quarter. So I'm happy I'm sure if we did it again from a light he would probably pull ahead. but for my little Ole' REX that once had 108hp..... tonight was a huge win

no one even knows how true that statement is untill you are there and experence for yourself!!! Bikes have a hell of alot better power to weight ratio than any car, even if it is a r6, cbr600f4, or gsxr600.

Not to rain on your parade, but 99% of the time when a car smokes a bike, that just means that the rider cannot ride. Although it was from a roll, so that might be a different matter.
Either way congrads! All the way up untill the end I was like "it probably was an SV650, or a ninja 250"

The Suzuki SV650 is hot!! Although I like the SV650S a little better then the naked version. I like the half fairing and the clip-ons. The SV650s are a bit slower then the full out sport bike CBR600 F4. Honestly though, the CBR600 had a 3.74lb/hp ratio, from a stand still it would have been a different story. Also, it may have been different if he new what I had under the hood. Meaning maybe he thought it would be a easy kill and was in the wrong gear. Regardless, the moment was priceless, I was completely expecting to get smoked and it turned out different. Who knows maybe he'll be back with his buddies on a CBR900RR..... then I'll be screwed.
