The Demise of the D-Series
Well my friends, the time has finally come. I've elected to buy the B16 from the Integra XSi. My trusty d-series has finally ceased to satisfy me. Anyways I am planning on doing this swap myself and was wondering if I'll need anything other than what H-Motors supplies. (I.E. Hasport AC Bracket)
Also any suggestions on things I should do before putting the motor in would be very helpful.

Have all the tools, have an extra car to do store runs, don't half ass around things, make sure you the parts that need to be replaced after they have been removed/used ( castle nuts, cotter pins, axle nuts, yada yada )
TAKE YOUR TIME!
If its a complete swap you should be in the good.
Why the XSi motor though? are those similar to the Gen1 B16 out of the EF civic SiRs?
If not whats wrong with that one? wouldnt it save you a lot of time and hassle?

I chose this engine because it's fairly rare, and it's basically the same thing as a b16a2 with a cable trans. So its like the medium between a b16a1 and b16a2. The engine code for the Integra XSi is simply B16. And that mo-fo puts out 170 hp! Also I want to hear my RS*R with the engine it was designed for.

from my understanding the B16A(1) and B16A(2) put out the same amoutn of horsepower.
My buddy had a B16A(1) in his rex from a 91 SiR and it keeps up with mine B16A(2), if not a bit quicker due to wieght
i donno man im just saying, as long as its JDM theres no real argument, nobody gives a fuck what its out of really as long as the numbers are there right?. But its your cash, i just think its to much of a hassle and a waste of money IMO.
Good luck on both ends though...can't wait to see the finished product.

Sounds great. I can't wait to see this car all finished, the green car with JDM conversion and a real engine!!!
All I can say is PLAN PLAN PLAN!! your best resources for information will be the guys at HASPORT, H-MOTORS On-Line, and us
Just make sure when you call these guys you are respectful of their time. They get calls like this all day long. Write down your questions, say yes sir and thank you, and make sure if they give you advise you buy their stuff!! These poor guys get sapped for a lot of information, then after they give it people go and buy the stuff somewhere else because it's $5- cheaper!! Respect goes a long way, and you'll find many of these vendors will enjoy talking to you if you have your questions in order and are thankful.
Good luck and post lots of photos!!

I bought the engine today $2200 from H-Motors with the LSD YS1 transmission. Anyways, what clutch should I buy in the $300 or lower price range. For daily driving and still able to take it to a road course. Also are Hasport mounts worth the $350?

Cant wait to see this rex be put to it's full potential. hmm clutch....heres one ACT product # AI1-HDOO . Street clutch torque capacity 195 ft/ lbs, heavy duty Pressure plate, alignment tool. $292.00. I really recomend a type r flywheel. $250.00 at www.inlinefour.com . Remember Anyone could purchase this kit but that little extra something make your car that much more better.
