Lights in the HVAC controls
Hey guys it's been so long since I drove my REX at night that I'm confused about something. Are there supposed to be lights inside the HVAC buttons?? All of the buttons that control the the "flow" of air are not lit. For the life of me I can't remember if they were back in 1996.
Someone please let me know

There is a light. I THINK mine worked at one point, or sometimes did, then stopped. I dunno I haven't driven my car at night since November, and it's not drivable ATM.

haha, does anyone here have a driveable crx? Jeesh. Mine hasn't ran since February and hasn't seen daylight since September '05
From what i remember, they should be lit but that's just memory. Someone else probably could check for sure.

You can get all kinds of exemptions on emissions and crap cause you drive it so little.

Yes, there's lights in each of them, only when they're pressed in though. I don't believe there's a light which illuminates each of them for night driving though. At least mine aren't.
Mine work perfectly, if you need me to check something out for you, let me know.

Emissions? What emissions?
Yeah, we don't have to deal with that luckily.

I know there's a green light(LED) above each one when pressed. But, I think the "face" of each button is supposed to be lit all the time. The reason I think this is because my "AC button" is lit. Also, I think there's supposed to be a light in the ashtray. When installing my radio I saw a bulb in there.....it must be burnt out.

There is an ashtray light. Mine works most of the time.
Oh and my car is not drivable right now because one of my rear brakes is leaking fluid, so I gotta take the wheel off today and have a look-see.

I gotta check and see if mine has one there. There's a lighted ring around the cig lighter. And, am I the only one who keeps my change in my ashtray? Csuse if it aint in there, it goes all over the place when I drive.

So I fixed all the lights on the interior of the REX. Let me tell you the HVAC lights go hand and hand with "Top 5 jobs I don't ever want to do again". It sucked!!! The HVAC removal is such a bitch and once you manage to get it out you actually have to open the controller up (like opening a radio) and find the bulbs on the inside!! Make a long story short, all the buttons light up, as do the "green" selectors on top of them. Also, I got my ashtray light and cigarette lighter ring working

Damn - I admire your drive to get stuff done. Something like that I probably would have just left alone.
I wanna see a pic of the lights too

Hey guys here's a picture of the dash lit up the way it was from the factory 16 years ago (except for the radio )
The ashtray light works but I don't have it open (it looked ugly in the photo). The strange glow you see near the cigarette lighter is my satin NSX gearshift knob.
