Video comparison 0-80mph from 1st & 2nd gear launches
Here's a HORIBLE video of me doing a 0-80mph (top of third, roughly 80mph). I did the first run from 1st gear and clocked about 5.2 seconds to 60 (top of 2nd). Then I did the second run starting from 2nd gear. I bogged real bad and still pulled of 0-60 in about 4.4 seconds. On top of that I think my speedometer is off because I'm shifting at 8600rpm and according to what I read today at 8000rpm (with my trans & tires) I should be at about 61mph. With that said the top of 2nd gear, when I'm shifting, maybe really be around 65mph.....who knows.
They're horrible videos taken at tonight with my video camera bungied to my passenger seat . It's focused directly at my speedometer and there's a lot of shake. The videos are purely to demonstrate my "messed up gear ratio" problem.
Make sure you keep an eye on the guage in the beginning because it's the only time you'll see it clearly
0-80 1st & 2nd gear demonstrations

I started out in second gear the race that I beat my friend in. First would do nothing but spin. I bogged and he got a jump on me but I had him reeled in by 60.

Yeah, you should get a harness bar. You can throw on a five point for when you're at the track and mount a camera right in the middle.

I will have in car footage. I'm getting a glassmounted video camera thingy My friend has one in his NSX and it works flawlessly. Roll bar and harness are coming next year.

not sure what rollbar you're going with, but you have to modify the door panels on 89-91 CRX's (door mounted seatbelt ones) to fit an autopower 4 pt. That's still the roll bar i plan on getting (when i can find a deal) but just be prepared. It hits on the lower part of the door panel.
One guy on Honda-tech used a heat gun and slowly made his door panel mold around the bar. Still scares me but that's what i'm probably going to do:

Did you put in a shift light or is that your check engine light that goes on halfway through? Are you having oil pressure problems with that acceleration?

No oil pressure problems (I'm running a TODA oil pump gear ). The S300 has the ability to flash the check engine light like a shift light. Mine is set to flash at 8000rpm but the fuel & ignition cut come on at 8600rpm.
