That's very good advice. Take your time and do it right the first time instead of having to do it right the second.

well hehe (sweats nervously) i have to work 1-6 that day as well heh. but i convinced my manager to let me come in at 2pm. i tried talking her to giving me the day off....nope no avail.
so anything else i need for the swap? i have the coolant, oil and filter already, i need the cap and timing belt, i'll change them both friday night. but anything else i need, besides the engine hoist and air compressor? OH will 1.5 horse power air compressor work? its also electric.

for the most part, the little things are essential...over look them and you can be in a world of trouble....
as for the coolant i used some clear choice premix, which is the second choice of the mechanics at mile high honda.....
i wouldnt see anything wrong with a premix...if anything i'd really go with the OEM shit...

oh...another good tip.
Make sure you have another running car to use. You WILL have to make a trip to the autopart store at some point during the swap....trust me.

That is the damn truth. I was gonig to say something about "taking time", when I did my swap I was lucky to have another car to drive at the time. If I didn't I would have been F'd bad.

i'm too cheap to buy pre mix stuff, i just have a empty jug around and mix it myself. And just dont try to short cut stuff ( ie. axle nuts, cotter pins ) and make sure to torque you bolts!!

welp, so far i have all the parts.......but not the air compressor, no one has an air compressor to rent thats like over 2hp.
i also grabbed bottle of sea-foam. so when the car is up and running (hopefully) then i can let it glug it up and clean the engine.

x2
make sure not to half ass a thing. Put every bolt where it needs to be, if you are missing one bolt, find the same type to replace it. Also, try not to substitute shit. Like the spring pin for yourr shift linkage for example, a pain in the ass to take out...pain in the ass to put back in. Shit like that maybe seem to have an alternative part but hell no!, if you use a fat bolt to take it splace you might not be able to find 5th gear or reverse.
same thing with things like washers, the washers in your shift linkage will determine how much wobble play there will be with your shifter....
so seriously don't rush, take your time, count and pay attention to the little things...they actually play a vary big part in how clean the swap goes.
Doesn't matter how long it takes you, 5 hours or maybe 5 days...a perfect product of hard work should have no dead line...
