you need a special tool to keep the crank pully stationary while you loosen the bolt
http://www.etoolcart.com/browseprodu...t-AST7809.html
there many brands out there, im just throwing out one i googled. You can get the tool from the dealership too....

i just bought one of the crank pulley tools from snap on for like 60 bucks, it's well worth i think, but if you have air tools the you might not need it.

You guys take a straight impact to that crack bolt and you could damage the bolt or the threads itself if its not secured by the tool. If not that it will just crank the motor =/. A buddy of mine did that to his D15B not even a month ago.
Least that what i have seen and been told, maybe those are just bad luck cases.

it just took some "fattness" and a long ass breaker bar, who ever had put this crank bolt back into the motor never heard of a torque wrench and same thing with the tensioner pulley bolt!!! it took every thing i had to get the crank pully bolt free!!!!
hopefully steve you will back up and running tommorrow night!!

I can attest to that. I am the CRX odditty. 6'4" 300# got alot of muscle.. and a little fatass, but i guarantee, if it is on my car.. i can get if off with hand tools.. PERIOD I love me.
as jadkar said about the torch.. if you aren't careful you will melt the timing belt cover that is behind the pulley.. that = an OH f**k experience

Next time put a rachet with a piece of pipe on the handle and rest it against the ground and gently bump the engine over. Motor turns the opposite way your trying to loosen the bolt it'll break it loose every time. Way easier than breakin a nuckle or two.

Its always worked for me, now remember some motors spin counter clockwise so dont do it on those or youll just tighten the bolt.

that is a great last resort.. but you risk damaging things as well.. try it every other way first..
I have used that resort on non interference engines on the side of the road at night.. just trying to get home.. it does work.. but if that bolt happens to snap from the adverse forces..you are pretty much screwed heh
