TYC HIDs on EG6
Hi guys,
I don't know if you guys remembered but I did mention on my latest project previously to upgrade the headlights to my EG..
After a long time of sourcing for the stuff I want, here's how it went:

OEM lights off

OEM lights on

OEM beam from the car

OEM beam outside the car
Finally gathered my shit...

HID system

TYC projector lights

WIP to fit on the TYC projector lights and the wiring for the HIDs

TYCs on

HIDs on

High beams on TYC

HID beam from the car...

End result... priceless feeling.. all i can do was after that
I still need to make adjustments to the beam of the car to check if it's aiming at the correct angle... I think it's currently shooting too high... will update you guys once it's done...

I have to admit, I think adding projector lamps to a car that didn't have them from the factory looks ghetto.
HOWEVER .....on your chassis it actually looks better than OEM by far!!! The look fits the car better than the old school lamps that were there before and I know the night time vision is so much better.
Good job!
Projector lamps on CRX = ugly

thanks for the thumbs up.. it took me ages to find projector lights for my car dat dun stand out too much.. i like these ones because it looks OEM enough yet not really to pull it off.. there are some funky shit out there that makes the headlamps stand out too much taking away all attention on the car itself..
i think you just need to look around for a good one.. it definately has to be smoked and the projectors musn't stand out too much that it takes the shape of the lamps till it's out of proportion...
sorry bout the wallowing.. being in design industry made me really anal about how my car looks like should i embark on a project
btw... thanks KevlarRun for giving me pointers on how the lights should work on a car.. it really helped a lot..!

looks one twenty eleventybillion.shillion.unicornillion times better.
just make sure ur ballasts are in a water-free area cos i dont know how good those ballasts are. good one's are NOT water proof but water RESISTANT. best to ensure u keep them dry as well as the inter-connects/relays.
euge. u guys drive on the same side as us. driver side level. passenger side up is the golden rule. so bump up the LHS a lil bit higher, helps with road signs and general traffic. u got projectors. u dont need to worry too much about spray/light scatter. can u take a picture of it against a wall? just wunna see the cut off. from pilot's side and close up view of cut off.

aiight kev.. i'll take some in the basement later and post it up.. will show you also where i stashed the ballast...
the problem i'm facing now is the HID wires are too short to be ziptied.. it's just tucked away at the moment but i really wanna make sure it's done neatly..
i was driving with my frens last night and the dude that was driving in front of me says the beam is too high, he sed he could only see lights on his rear view mirror.. lmao, he can't even see my car from it.. i guess i figured that it was aiming too high too coz when i approach, road signs (the ones above the highways) and even houses (and i'm talking bout the 1st storey) lights up as though they're standing up to be counted... lmao...

aiight dudes.. here it is...

cut off from point blank..

cut off from 3 ft away
here's where i'm putting my ballasts..

driver side (right)

R wiring

passenger side (left)

L wiring
i'm going to re-adjust the lights later this evening when it gets darker.. it's burning (and i really mean burning) hot and bright outside.. lemme know what you guys think i should do...
i don't really know how to put the wiring from the ballast to the lights nicely.. sigh...
EDIT: quick question, can i still wash my engine bay?

when i clean my engine bay i always cover all my relays with tinfoil and never spray water directly on anything. you could probably get away with the same. just don't get them wet, use a rag to clean around them.

yeah u got a couple hot spots but thats generally how it is with alot of aftermarket housing. unless u get good quality factory projector lenses.
a bit of glare's visible. thats unused light/scatter that doesnt do much good but meh. its a helluva lot better than oem halogen lighting
those ballast locations are fine.

yea, my engine bay needs cleaning... i'll keep that in mind...
i've adjusted the lights and it's a whole lot of work as the bumper and the lights had to come off to adjust the left due to lack of space... i'm going to test it when it gets darker and pics are coming too.. if it's still too high, i'm going to readjust it tomorrow :S

best way to go about it is put ur car facing a wall around 15-25m away and turn ur headlights on. aim for aroundabouts rear window height and below. (where the botton of the rear window would be if u were tailing a car)
raise lhs a lil higher and boom. ur done.
