Code 45 Too rich or Too Lean in Civic 96 Ex D16y8
Hi guys
I have a friend that is having problems with his civic, the ecu is throwing a 45 code "too rich or too lean", the car pings sometimes at idle going from 800 to 1200 forth an back, the car feels real slow like the ignition is retarded, theres black dirt on the rear bumper, we are guessing that it maybe the primary o2 sensor... any advice on this matter would be great thanks guys

Yeah seems like your running rich, Check your ignition timing. It could possibly being your O2 sensor, did you pull a code for your O2 sensor?

typically if the o2 is the problem it will have the code for that as well. if there isn't one for it then i'd start looking at the injectors, or troubleshooting other things since prewired o2's can be costly
when my primary went out it ran rich, but the idle only fluxed as i was coming to a stop, and definately not that much.

Hook a miltimeter up to the O2 while the car is running and see if it goes high then low then back to high. That's what it's supposed to do.
Mini jack: what's a code for "fuel supply system" mean?

A multimeter has a volt meter and an ohm meter and a bunch of other useful shit in it.
