you have a z6 already don't you? Just rebuild that and you'll save a lot of money.
Heck, you could do a lot to that motor for the $400 a d15b would cost and make more power (i almost said a lot but we're talking about a n/a d-series )

putting 2 headgaskets wont raise your compression it will drop it..thicker the headgasket lower the compression..you want to get a thinner one fi you go that route...
I say order the d15b from Hmotors..my friend had one in his 94 dx coupe..it wasnt that bad for a stock single cam..it will be a lot cheaper for you..
check hmotors

wow, i didn't see the last reply on the page before replying. I'd say get the motor torn down before you decide to rebuilt it or replace it. I've seen more than a few high mile D-series that were fine inside.

No, i meant 2 headgaskets after i installed the p28 pistons into the block. With the p28's and nothing other than that, it'll yield about 12.2:1 compression. To me that seems a little too high for a daily driver and i figure the 2-3 horsepower i lose from not having the extra half point of compression will add to the reliability of the engine.

I found what the problem was with all of my dash lights. I pried the dimmer switch out and unpluged it and pluged it back in. All the dash lights came on perfectly. I went to push the switch back into the dash and the lights started to flicker. So, i've got a dimmer switch gone fritzy. At least now i know. All i've got to get is a starter and get my baby inspected.

Just the driver's door. As you can see from the photo, my window visors came in, but the 3m tape doesn't stick that well, so i'm gonna go today and get some 10 min epoxy glue and they'll never come off. My passenger door window switch came in today, the old one was pretty well mangled. All i still have to wait for is the short shifter crap and my jdm pedals. I'm off to a salvage yard or two to find a starter.
Later.

I got a starter and bolted it in. Started right up. Got the glue setting up right now. My dad is bitching to me about how loud the exhaust is. But it's all good. I get unemployment again in 2 weeks, and i've got plans for this car. It'll be in tip top shape then.

I went to get the civic inspected today, and they found a bunch of crap that i already knew about. The inner tie rods are bad, i already have the outers though, the rear lca's need installed and i have a rear trailing arm bushing that's ripped. All of my tires passed but just barely. I need to raise up the suspension a bit cause they say one of the springs wasn't touching the top hat when they had it on the lift. And, the rear brakes are gonna need to be changed soon but they passed.
Edit: They just quoted me $850 to do all that work. Hahahaha, fuck no. I'm gonna go up there and say " give me the emissions sticker cause i passed that and i'll pay you for failing me on the inspection. I'm gonna put all this shit on myself and take my car somewhere else."

Is this state inspection that complained about all that stuff?? I have never heard of a state raising the car and checking to see if the springs touch the hats?? Damn, I would fail on about 230 inspection points
BTW.....I'm sure your dad loves the new garage floor color!!

Yeah, he wants me to go to home depot and get some cement bleach or something. Anyway, the car's back in the garage and i've got some work to do over the next couple days. At least i've got emissions out of the way.

Here's another little twisty update. I'm getting a dynomax super turbo muffler welded on on friday. Dad got to really bitching about how loud my exhaust is and he said he'd buy the muffler for me. I'm getting tired of fighting with him over it so i said sure, whatever. Hey, i need to keep him happy or i don't have a roof over my head.

I just removed my rear bumper support, a/c system, power steering, back seat and I gutted the trunk. Today I ordered one of those ebay test pipes. I'm in the middle of removing all my stereo too.

I have the mats out now. The black thing was to control a now nonexistent 6 disc cd changer. Yeah, I'll take out all the speakers and put up some pics when i get a chance.
