y8 went to hell on halloween at midnight, this engine is in satins civic now :)

well people convinced me to swap my UO racing pulley for a stocker and I did on halloween night. I went out for a short drive all was well and no problems.

I came home handed out candy then I went for a "hard" drive in the mountains.

I was drving around and raced a WRX in the twisties and beat it(fallowing initial D rules lol) on the road back I was having fun just practicing my line and just geting on the car good. coming out of a corner when I step on it

POP!!!! clank clank...

fuck... smoke PURING out of the car.. out of my new vented CF hood ect. I pull over clock turns to 12am...

hole in my block at #2 cylinder.... rod is missing and hole is fistable. must have let go around 7000rpm or so.

A local yard may have a z6 im going to swap in. I want to sway away from y's due to oiling issues ect.

RIP 2000 civic ex D16Y8. its benn a great service of 113,000 miles. now it is time for you to go to hell lol.

shit 113 thousand miles lol.....

no this is NOT a joke carnige pics tommorrow.

*snif* *snif*

ifthe z6 is low milage ill swap it if its pretty high sad to say im gona go b18c... I got a new job and just want a fast and reliable car(doesnt get more reliable then a stock JDM b18c....) Im also looking at a d15b but Im only like 1000 bucks short of the b18c swap after all is said and done so I may just go for it since down time isnt really an option...

even iff I do get the B ill still post much love here .

you guys ROCk thanks for the years of great advice. except bone who told me to get the stock pulley(engine blew 3 hours after change it from UO racing)

lol j/k bone. I did notice a definetly loss in the engine changing to stock from u/o racing.

you sure you installed the pulley right? if it wasn't sitting on correctly it could have thrown off the balance somehow. just a guess.

did you see rowe's ls/vtec turbo set up on SHO? it looks nasty. i can't wait till i have money to start putting towards power. right now it's all going towards fixing what's wrong with the car

I didnt either. but for what I want the car to do it makes sence

1)daily driver reliable
2)back mountain roads(not much power needed)
3)1/4 mile

after research it would cost me 2500 bucks for a new engine and to build the D to a MABBY 145whp and a decent tranny.

a complete b16 LSD tranny swap is 2400 bucks and makes that power stock....and it has more potential to make power N/A

I want to stick almost stockish and just have nice powerband. B fits in all this and is suprisingly cheaper.

I will miss the SOHC DEALY tho... love that freaking engine. Im sure ill eventualy build a straight line mosnter but for now im going NA twisties not boosted 1/4 mile.

I cant belive it either lol. I a FIRM beliver in the D but for me it just doesnt make sence right now.
