GSR seats.
now before you get mad at me for not searching i already know what 'fits' into my car from the GSR but i was just offered 4-door gsr leather seats (front and rear) and was wondering if the front seats would fit into my car. if so what is the difference between the 4-door and 2-door front seats? thanks boys (and girls too if there's any here)

I don't think there's any difference between the 2's and 4's. Just swap the seat rails.

theres a huge difference. you need the four door rear seats for your hatch but if you dont mind your passangers getting in through the trunk then go with the two door fronts. The 2 door front seats recline forward so your passangers can get into the back seat. the 4 door seats do no such thing since the passanger can get in through the rear doors.

That's news to me but if you're swapping for civic rails wouldn't they slide forward just like your current seats do?
Or are you saying that the 4-door seats don't "jacknife" forward?

I wasn't sure about the GSR ones, but i know the Civic 4 door ones did in my brother's 93. Do the 2 door ones slide forward when you try to get in the back seat though? And do the 4 door ones? Not a huge deal but just something else to consider.

That shouldn't matter. It's the width and height that would be different. Just stick with the gsr front seats. The back might fit, who knows.

The backs for the civic should be a four door and they fit perfect. ive done it to plenty of civics and so have my friends. and the 4 door seats do not jack knife forward. i found out the hard way. i broke a seat in my gsr 2 door. went to the junk yard and found a 4door with identical seats and guess what couldnt buy it cuz it didnt jack nife forward the way the 2 door does. it goes forward but only straight up positioning not all the way forward like a coupe would. had to get a slightly different color seat from another teg. If you put teh coupe rear seats into a civic there will be a gap at the bottom and they wont really look all that great. atleast the bottom of the four door seats you need the top may be fine. The bottom part is thicker from the 4 door than it is on the 2 door.

i was always told the rear seat backs from a coupe and the rear seat bottoms from a sedan...as for the front, i have to go look at the rears anyways so i'll check them out. i dont see why the 4 door would jack knife foward like that one person stated.

oh i do trust you because that's what 99% of people say, but i'm curious to know why that one guy was talking about GSR sedan seats leaning forward.

Well, I got the front GSR leather seats, they were from a 2-door...now the pain is finding a GSR 4-door that has black leather seats in good/great condition...
Wasn't there a write up that you can take the cover/leather off the GSR rear seat bottom and put it on the Civic rear seat bottom cushion? Maybe I it was just a dream.
