Chalk up another "to do", before boost....:(
well I just finished taking the tranny off and I look at the vin "wth 2hgEJ????" thats a fucking canadien 4dr this is a US 2dr. SO I flip through the helms and yup...my theory of me having a DX tranny is true boos.gif
I belive it came off a 98 Canadian 4dr DX. This explains alot of things, why my car goes on forever in 3rd,why I lost to a n/a 300zx.
also why Im not in the 15's with i/h/e. with this DX tranny I did a 16.4@83 mph. what do you guys think I would run with a new clutch and an EX tranny? obviusly you cant predict my time but an ex tranny shaves off an average time what ya think it will be with an ex.
Im thinking of puting off my bost plans and selling my vtc/chiped p06 and my turbo to get an EX tranny.
Im also thinking of just puting around with the DX and then just building an EX on the side, mabby a 4.7 FD, and the longesd 5th known to the D's. a CRX hf.
thanks guys....this sucks I have a HUGE frown on my face WTF man WTF.........................

Are you sure that it's N/A? Because that's equivilant to a 14 second time slip. That's a little quick for an n/a 300z.

9.8 1/8th mile doesn't sound right with those times, sorry.
Just as a comparison i had a 10.0 1/8th mile with my crx w/ 2.30 60' and a 15.5 quarter.

Yeah, that's obviously not right.
Sucks about the tranny though. I don't know how much you can expect to gain by going to the EX trans. I never really had a problem with the DX trans in my brother's Civic but he also never even tried to race it. Daily driver duty only.

I googled for a few minutes, look like average gain in the 1/4 is about .5-1 SECOND!! thats on dx civic with eiter a dx mani or y8 mani. with my vtec sauce(lol) I will see 15's without a problem in my heavy ass 2000 EX coupe.
i/h/e BTW. I will also be puting in a 4.7 FD and a CRX hf 5th into the ex, on slicks Im thinking mid 14's lol.

I think I found one for a good price around here. Im thinking of just keeping it off to the side for a while after I buy it, put an OBX LSD in there and the 4.7 FD and a long 5th. then after I boost the tractin will be needed so the EX tranny goes in. what you guys think?
