no offense but you ask a lot of questions and most are pretty common subjects covered on every site. any motor swap that needs tuning will need an obd1 chipped/socketed ecu. idk what one you shold run with an ls motor, prefferably a non vtec obd1 ecu. go search on SHO or honda tech, i bet there are a million people wih ls vtec swaps and such. just do a google search and youll find what you need.

no, because it has the information. most members on here still post on sho. its not a crime. we are trying to be as civil as possible. just because cuba are a bunch of commies doesnt mean every american hates them, in fact, a lot of americans wish we didnt hate cuba so we could all sit and smoke cuban cigars.
we are mature, and there is no reason we should discount useful information created by people who know what they are talking about.

here's an idea marc, instead of going on a tirade about ecu issues you dont quite have the info for yourself, why not just let the post sit until someone with some experience can provide some guidance?
for the ecu you have a few choices, but you'll have to go obd1 to tune it really. since the lsvtec is just a distant thought i'd recommend a p06/p74/p75/pr4 (obd1 nonvtec) ecu chipped and socketed so you can get it tuned on real engine management (crome, uber, neptune, hondata). i'd give john at phearable.net a shout and see what he can do for you.

The guy are right. you cant tune an obd2 ecu. so you gotta go back down to obd one. an obd1 ls ecu should do you just fine and they are pretty abaundant. but if you are gonna boost now why go ls vtec later? youll have to get a whole new ecu obd1 vtec ecu then socket that again and retune the whole thing. why not instead of going lsvtec (which i personally think is over rated build the ls motor to handle alot of boost and boost away. That thing will put down crazy numbers if built right.

Silly question... Does Hondata not make ecu's for these motors?

yeah unfortunately this is true, the p75 will pass you emissions wise, but wont be reprogramable. You *could* look into emanage ultimate, but again like blake said, not what i would run.

all the programs like hondata, crome, uberdata, and neptune require specific OBDI ecu's.
here are all the ecu's that are compatible with hondata

To answer vivids question no hondata does not make ecu's. They have programs and chips and modules for honda ecus. Hondata.com i have/had the s200 from honda for a p28. i socketed the ecu then plugged the s200 into the ecu and went from there. and to register it you dont need an ecu you need it for the inspection. get a backup p72obd2 get the inspection then revert back to obd1 and run your boost program.
