would you turn it on and off manually at the proper RPM? or just leave it on all the time? no point in just leaving it on all the time, might as well wait until you have a P28 before doing the mini-me.

eh, the rpm switch method is kinda ghetto.
You can chip a obd0 ecu for vtec using turboedit i believe. I was looking at that route for a while but found a p28 and liked that idea better so went with that.

if you go the switch route, then don't bother with a window switch. that's good for deactivating nitrous before hitting redline. no real point for it with just VTEC. i like the chip idea, that might be a good route to go. but then again, if the switch doesn't work, you're not up shit's creek and you can still drive.
there is always the PW0 or PS9 ECU. That will have a better fuel map than your current ECU. (What year are we talking about, btw?)

yah, those were OBD0 ECUs, which i just figured you had. (i'm a 4th/2nd gen civic/crx person ) one is an early B16 ecu, and the other is for the 88-91 civic LX. you've got a P06. too bad you don't have a chip burner, that could help you out a ton!

hell yes! personally i LOVE the 4th gen hatch's, i love the interior design and how light they are...and i've ALWAYS wanted a crx...
:P i've been working with uberdata for like 2 years...i just found crome and i have to admit i like it a little better. Anyway, i think i'll just get the rpm switch and set it up that way...i'm thinking to activate it around 4000rpm.

Yeah. 5000 to 5500 is key. It's going to dog like hell from 4000 to 5000 IMO.

vtec isnt always activated at the same rpm. the ecu looks at speed, all of the engine temps. when the engine is cold vtec shouldnt be coming on at all.
just save up another 75 bucks and buy a p28 and chip it so you have the stock map and option of tuning.
junkjards are awesome to pick up ECU's especialy HUGE ones. ive stolen an nissan ecu for a friend

after doing the obd1 conversion, i can tell you for sure not to waste your time with a rpm switch.
The only other method i'd even consider is using TurboEdit to run a p28 style map on a obd0 car but i have no idea where to even start on how to do that. I just know it's possible.
