Problem with GSR swap in eg hatch!
My buddy swapped in a B18C1 in his hatch this weekend and got everything hooked up but he isn't getting any fuel to the motor. Instead of using the wiring harness that was in there he opted to use the GSR wiring harness that came with the car, could that be where he ran into trouble? I'm going over there tonight to try and help him out but I don't have a clue where to start. Any ideas?

Yeah that's what I thought but I wasn't sure. He still needed to run the wires for the vtec solenoid and all that jazz but I'm wondering if he did it wrong. I was supposed to do it for him but he got impatient and did himself not really knowing what he was doing. When he turns the car to on you can't even hear the fuel pump pumping, so something has to be disconnected somewhere.

Yeah that's what I wanted to avoid but come to think of it that's probably the best idea.

Do you know of site that I could find a breakdown of the GSR wiring harness so I know what color wires go to what? What I really need to know is what color are the wires for the Vtec solenoid, Vtec pressure switch, IAB solenoid and the knock sensor. Any idea?

If you could I would really appreciate it, I can't seem to find anything that pertains to what I'm looking for.

Have you checked your main relay. If thats blown then u wont get any fuel either. Check fuses as well. Good luck
Here is a good source and site for your project.

He said they don't so it's probably a blown fuse or bad ground, right?

doesnt seem to me that he even has power going to the engine. No dash lights, no fuel pump...... There's really no telling what he did wrong. I really hate working on other peoples wiring when they dont know what they are doing. Personally, i would take the harness out and redo it myself. Thats the only way to insure doing it the right way and not backtracking trying to figure out what he did wrong.

Nevermind he thought I meant his headlights Yeah his dash lights come one, I'll figure it out one way or the other I'm sure. I'll probably have to start from square 1 and go from there. He says his friend tried to wire up the motor and remove a pin or two so he might have disconnected the fuel pump somehow. If they would have waited I could have had everything wired up within 30 minutes, but now it coulod take me all night.

i dont know where it is on the eg, but as far as the TPS. I took a dremel to mine and made slots in the rivets so i could use a flathead.

It should be a blue service connector.

the CEL service connector is a 2 pin connector. I would think that the SRS and CEL connectors would be next to each other
