Why are you going 17 inches high? Here's some help on the width/offset. and don't forget about rolling your fenders with a baseball bat if you're desprete

my drop? and...honestly that size was just an idea...what i really want is the widest possible tire/wheel combo... i'd RATHER a 14'' wheel heighth...but i don't think that i could put that wide of a tire on it... btw..the car still sits at stock height...

by drop I meant height.
I would personally go with a 15 inch high wheel, there are more possibilities with them. Also remember wider = $$$$$

A good option for a 15" wheel is the OEM SI wheel. The tire size for that wheel is 195/55/R15. The widest recomended tire for that wheel is a 205/50/R15. Being that is a OEM wheel, the offset is not a concern.

I know that if you use a 17" rim, the best size for that tire is a 205/45/17.

If you can't find 14s or 15s in the width you want the Rotas start getting wide when you go up to 17 inches

You do realize that having a wheel so retardedly large like 17x8.5 on a Civic will throw acceleration and handling out the window right?

Get a 15x7 or 16x7 if you like a little more show. Oh and fender flares are stupid.

garrett. the last pic
looks as if those wheels are test mounted without any lug nuts. note the positive camber on them

each degree of camber = 5mm further in or out. also considering when they are mounted with tyres, and actually loaded they will sit in a bit further also

in terms of wheel fitment, if ur not rolling ur fenders at LEAST, then you have poor wheel fitment.
i guess its hard for civics cos u cant really stretch the rubber considering the rim widths. but u can get pretty fuckin dope fitment on them regardless.

take for example that green EG with the TE37's. i wouldnt run such big diam rims on small cars cos i think it looks gay and looks like they are rollerskates. but thats just a personal preferance.
but regardless, if he got them out further 2cm/20mm. and rolled and mAb slightly pulled the fenders a lil to match the clearance on travel. it would look TEN TIMES better at least

so +20 wouldnt be a problem. on 16/17x7.5
providing ur runnin around the same camber.

but thats some food for thought.

Yeah I know, if I could have found a eg civic on 15 or maybe 16 inch with a nice width I would have posted it lol. Here's an undated picture of the 15x8 he posted today with tires and on the ground. I don't like the way it looks with the VW stretch going on, but like i said i was just throwing it up there for referance

I hate how they sit, shown in that last picture He's planning on flares now or these if he can get the money

of course it would
but pullin it off RIGHT would be another deal

remember EG's are mid 90's. the cool thing with its lines are u can go bolt on flares. or go those overfenders that garrett linked to.

IF that grey EG flared and pulled his fenders front and rear to match the TREAD (not the rim, the rim should still sit out). but yeah match where the tread starts and drop the thing until there's no gap vertically between rim and fender.

it would look totally bad......like.....samual l jackson bad lol......

when u got small tyres, and ur showin tyre, if u want hella flush then yeah its better to match to tread. because then u eliminate the gap laterally between fender and tyre. taking into consideration u've stretched the rubber.

those sidewalls would slip right on into the fender. due to the angle they are at. so dope if done right

but yeah if he doesnt wunna go that path, bolt on flares would look fuckin hot on that thing. it keeps to the era of that car.
