Cool How wet is wet?

Hey guys,
My dumb mechanic decides to help me remove the heat resistant black paint on my B16A valve cover.. he suggested to pour the paint remover (this is some mad ass acid shit and it fucking bubbles up on the surface) on the valve cover without removing the valve cover from the engine (dun worry, we removed the plug cables and all the stuff that's attached to it except the oil cover)

Well it worked out pretty well but the fucked up part is that after that, we'll need to rinse it with water.. Now i took some water and poured it over the valve cover. The water in the plug holes were removed later with the blower. Evrything worked out well until my alternator starts to fuck up.. the voltage came up to about 15.9V from my voltage stabiliser reading (15.fucking9V!!!)

So my question.. how wet can ur alternator go? I'm running with vented (4 vents, 2 above the throttle and 2 above the exhaust manifold) CF hood during heavy rains and it's ok..

please explain..

the alternator shouldn't get damaged with water being splashed onto it. The engine does get wet normally with driving and i've washed (sprayed water or even pressure washed) numerous engines without issue. Now, i wouldn't submerge it but i'd think if water was bad for them they would close it up better.

Someone else might have more experience with this. I wonder what the offroad 4x4 guys do with their alternators or if they just run them through the water, they'd know a lot better then us i assume.

here's what it looks like when i'm driving..

looks kinda scary.. i know the apexi timer's voltage is not accurate but i checked the voltage on my voltage stabiliser and it reads about 15.9V as well
