WTT Type R Trans for GSR trans :)
Just like it says. Looking for someone (hopefully local) who wants to trade their GSR trans for my 1997 Type R trans.
The deal is: - You can drive to my place and we can drive each others car to check the "condition" of each others trans.
- We'll wrench out the transmissions from both cars.
- I keep my LSD (sorry), so I'll swap out the diffs from the transmissions.
- We will then re-install the transmissions into the appropriate cars.
- I have a large 2 car garage with plenty of tools to do this in one day
Basically you get a tight ratio'd transmission without the LSD. You get this without having to pay for the trans or the $$$ to do the swap. Hell, if you have a clutch & flywheel we can do that to your car as well!
This is a great deal!! If your interested let me know, also if you're serious MAKE SURE YOUR TRANS IS NOT JUNK. This is a great deal, please don't try and pull one over on me.
Let me know!!

What exactly is the B17 tranny.....
Is it more like the LS or like the 94-01 GSR??? Plus what do you mean it was converted to hydro. Wasn't it cable from the factory? that would work better for me. Lastly does it use a VSS or a mechanical style speed sensor.
I'd love more info on this trans.
btw....this is a ton of miles

this has shorter gears than both of em.
as far the conversion. its still a cable tranny. which would better seeing as u have a crx but i guess u made it hydro i dunno.
the kit brings a bracket to allow you to bolt on a slave cylinder so hence its hydro conversino. all u have to do is takeoff that little bracket and its cable again. ill get some pics of it when i can
theres are my gear ratios
first --> 3.307 2.105 1.458 1.107 0.848 3.000 4.400 <- final
it had a mechanical speed sensor for it but right now its using an electrical cuz i had it an eg. but i should have the other speed sensor in storage. i kept all my orig. parts. they just swap right out

I have to do some more research. I'm not sure if it's a big enough difference. Right now I have the same final drive (4.40) but my 1st gear is 3.2 as opposed to 3.307 so it's not that far off.
The LS/GS trans has the 4.26 final drive and I think that's the way to go, but I may have problems with my drive shafts and I'm almost positive my LSD will not fit. This can get very expensive very fast Also, I use a VSS also so it's no biggie

Hey John mine's a 1998 USDM GSR
Of course I tuned in thinking you were getting rid of the LSD ... ...but I may still be interested if maybe I can pick up an LSD for my tranny and take advantage of your skills and tools to get the install done. In fact, maybe you want to pick out what you want as an LSD for a GSR tranny (since you have better hookups) and I'll pay for it. That way we can just swap the ITR tranny to my car and work on installing the GSR in my tranny and installing it on yours.
Anyway I'm interested...I'm going to look into the gear ratios
edit - just read the other thread. Sounds like GSR 1st and 2nd wouldn't help you much. On well...take a look at LS 1st and 2nd gears; If I can help out at all let me know.

The trans in the 99-00 si have the same gear ratio as the ITR. Just no Lsd.
John imho since your boosting you want a Ls trans from a teg, the longer gears is better for boost. Maybe just change out the final drive in the LS trans so its not so long if you dont want the gears real long. But still a lower FD than the Gsr

John, the simplest solution for you I can think of is to find a junked LS tranny and take the final drive out of it and throw it in yours. No need to make this so freakin complicated.

that would help but he still needs longer gears not just a lower final drive
