Need Help-Pioneer deh-P7750mp or Alpine cda-9857

I'm looking at buying a deck.
I've been using Pioneer consistently but I was thinking of changing to Alpine cos I heard the sound quality is better and there is more fine tuning.

Which one should I get? Pioneer DEH-P7750MP or Alpine CDA-9857.
Has anyone had any experience with these decks?

Or does anyone have any other ones they would recommend?

What do peeps think?

I'm also voting for the Pioneer. I currently have a deh-7500 that is 2 years old and it has a lot of different options fow every aspect of sound quality

welp......from my past experiences.... i have had lots of people give praise to the pioneer. alpine is good...but if you want the looks and sound, then i would definately go with the pioneer. alpine..i'm sorry but it does have the sound somewhat...but alpines to me all have the same look to them..every damn yr they come out with the same look if you have noticed. if you want sound from alpine, go with they're subs and components.
you also have to consider your security too on a H/U. if you want something that'll have good security as a H/U then you want eclipse or even kenwood is good too. theives will take a look in your car and they'll see an eclipse H/U they wont even touch it cause they know its useless after they take it out of the dash. same with kenwoods too.
but overall..i would definately go with the pioneer! FTW!

I guess Pioneer is less expensive so you get more bang for your buck.
I'm not sure whether they have as many features.
But I heard Alpine 2006 range has reduced functionality.

I'll keep shopping around.
Thanks for the replies.

look at my sig... im a pioneer man all the way. Pioneer shit is the greatest. their head units are well designed and have awesome functions. id definately recommend it. PM with the model your looking for and any other stuff you need and i guarantee i can find it for you on a site i use a lot for at least 50 dollars less than retail

i just got my pioneer p6800mp that retails for around 270-300 for 180 from the site.

well this topic could go either way.....to each his own ya know. but i sell both pioneer premiere, and alpine.....me personaly....i'll take the alpine. it offers bluetooth, and HD radio. plus the ipod interface works WAAAY much better than pioneers. my friends got a 60g nano hooked up to a avic (pioneer) and scrolling through his playlist takes foreeeeever. alpines works so much faster (kce422i) and its 20 bucks cheaper...check out the CDA9856 or CDA9857 radios.....both are clean retro look with their cosmetics and its user friendly.......damn i sound like a salesman....

i bet you any money the pioneer would sound so much cleaner than the alpine if you hooked up amps to them.
like i said..alpine is good for sound in they're components. the only other thing i like about alpine is they're I.C.E. screens.

I have a Alpine 9857 in my car and I love it. I used to install years ago back in High School. Many people remember me saying I had a sick set up in RIO back then. It was all stolen years ago but I had Pioneer head unit and a Pioneer 6 disc changer in the hatch (hot shit back in 1991). 3 coustic amps, active crossover, components front and rear and 2 12s. I have since then lost some of the hearing in my left ear thanks to bass and I have also become more interested in car performance rather than ICE.

So for me the Alpine was the best choice it has tons of features including the iPOD crap, and of course XM ready. However, for me the coolest thing is the ability to integrate with my BlueTooth Treo 650 phone like Karen's TL does. So when I'm cruising with the radio and sunroof open and I get a call the radio lowers itself and the phone conversation goes over the radio speakers seemlessly while my phone is still on my waist. That's the shit for me....plus the radio sounds real good too

not to bash you john, but most pioneer headunits now are ipod ready, xm ready and already have something no using bluettoth but another system that mutes the radio. they also do have a bluetooth model.

but alpine are awesome. with these two brands its a matter of taste really.

Nah...you're not bashing me. You have to remember though I come from a decade when Pioneer was shit and Alpine ruled. I had all Pioneer head units up until 1994 and I was always looked at as 5th & 6th. So this time I just grabbed the first $300- Alpine I could find without doing any research. If the tables have turned on the audio world that's cool Like I said ICE is not my cup of tea anymore anyway. I'd rather hear my engine at 9K rpm

i stand by alpine and eclipse equipment. personal preference for the most part, but after using/installing all the other brands these two are my top choices.

i like the new kenwood excelon decks. the feature of scrolling through songs just by your own voice is cool. bluetooth optional, along with the new feature which is kinda fun, is the G-meter. which "measures" G-force when your accelerating, and cornering, and it also measures the HP. also does 0-60 too. lots of fun things. the top line one sells for about 599$. with full color screen too.
