autox/open track and traction bars?

so im turboing my b16 CRX this summer....and I was looking into traction bars.

I have always assumed they were just for drag racing. but on a website of a company that sells them say say they are good for other types of racing.

i will be doing almost all autocross and open track (HPDE) racing. will i need traction bars for this? will they help at all?

btw- its the full-race traction bars im lookin at http://www.full-race.com/catalog/pro...products_id=77

Nice choice!!! 88 Rex and me both have Full-Race traction bars on our cars. I don't do much autocross I built my car for road course action. To answer your question, hell yeah they help with ALL types of racing. With my setup I have well over 250hp and I can't imagine how bad I would have wheel hop without them. When I had 108hp I had wheel hop all the time in the rain, now it's now non-existent!!! Now the car is just "point and shoot".

88 Rex will have to chime in though because I think they will bump you a class in Auto-X because you have them, but who cares

Actually I don't think you'll be in a different class since you already have the motor swap....might as well go balls out!

Yeah chassis rigidity is chassis rigidity no matter which way you're racing. One thing I would recommend (please ignore my hypocritical sig) is that you upgrade bushings, springs, dampers, etc because those traction bars are just going to transfer more force to the stock units which are more likely to fail and less likely to do what they were designed to do.

Eager to see how they come out...
