anyone wanna join me in a group buy for tb porting? - Tuner-Junction

like the title says. go to http://www.maxbore.com/ and scroll down till you see "group buys". it seems like a pretty good deal. anyone want in. if i can get 4 of us (me and 3 others) then instead of a $100 port, itll be $85/person. not bad at all. they sandblast the tb, put it on the laithe, replace the butterfly with a new bigger one (instead of making a taper bore and using the same butterfly like most others do) and re-adjust the tps to factory spec.

I've been contemplating this for a while now...what is your timeframe for this?

within the next month or so, or till we get 2 more people so its only 85/person

but i havnt seen too many companies that port the tb for real, just that taper bore. forget that, i can do that with a dremmel and the router attatchment myself. these guys actually bore it out and replace the butterfly with a bigger one. seems like a hell of a deal to me. even at 100 bucks its a good deal.

How much power will this give me on a modded D16A6.

if its done right like this company does it, you can get maybe 2-4. not bad, i think its more about letting the engine breathe more easily then the horse power in some cases.

quicker throttle response is the biggest gain with TB's

do you need to send them a TB, or will they do core exchanges or can they include a TB for an extra cost?

I might be intrested as thats a pretty good price, ericks racing ones are like 230 a pop

I have a friend who is probably gonna sell me his tired Z6 for about $100, he's got a b18 swap he's trying to put in. I'd have to rebuild it cause there could be reliability issues with an engine with 225,000 miles. I think i'd throw in some high comp. pistons and a cam and swap over the ported tb.

you send then yours, and they bore it out and all that neat stuff, and then they send you your tb back. they also pit the tps back at factory specs.
