I dont own a RX8 but this might be a hint of things to come. Also im using this as a way to proove and show members how you can peice together your own turbo kit and not need to cop out and buy one of these expensive kits. You can get the same set up for much less

lol
seriously budgeting for things sometimes REALLY doesnt work....i mean....REALLY REALLY doesnt work lol
the flow properties-vs-cooling properties. the fact that cheap intercoolers tend to fuck up (plenty of poor shits here do it and then complain on that gay site nissansilvia.com about why their shit is so,.......shit. and things go wrong). well tahts the reason why. u should be spending in the high near triple zero's for intercoolers.

WTF... high near triple zero's for an intercooler? no way in hell. garrett cores are pretty damn good and you can get a decent one from even precision for like under 500$.

'near' 000's. brand new. im talkin AUD. so 500 USD is around 700 AUD. if ur talkin like the spec M greddy's. u wont get one like that which is an R or V-SPL in the greddy range. blitz LM also in the same bracket.
im no noob u know.......

oh well if it's AUD that's diff... you didn't say. (is this an aussie site? lol)
either way the smaller greddy's aren't that great at all. i'm not too familiar with how well the Spec M or whatever works. But you can get a Garrett bar and plate core'd intercooler from precision that's good up to 750horse for ~550 or something retail.

garrets tend to flow well but dont cool well. its a fine balance between pressure drop/turbulence/and cooling.
i stick to my higher end ones. just tends to work better considerin it gets fuckin hott over on this side of the woods. and SR's arent exactly 'bulletproof'.
bar/plate is better suited for drag etc. but for some reason ARC has a really good one. but they cost even more than the blitz LM's and R-SPL's. tube and fin is a better go for general application.

true... i guess i spend most of my time in the drag racing world which is why i hear so many good things about them. that and i've used 3 of them and they've worked well.

yeah for sure. i mean bar and plate is a great application. it cools just as well. but flows better. unfortunately because it flows so well, it means that there's less turbulence. (also in effect a lesser pressure drop), so in a drag application, 'heat soak' isnt much concern. cos u'll be finished before u know it and it doesnt have to run for ages where heatsoak would result in bigger problems.

most def. i've read that about them a while back but like i said i never took into consideration as downfall because of my application.

yeah but that could be anything from a itty bitty 46 trim to something like a 60 trim if they stay in the T04E wheel family.
