Skunk 2 Intake Manifold
I'm debating on wether to buy the S2 intake manifold. My car puts out the standard 180 N/A HP (B16A) and I'm wondering if this would make much of a difference. Thanks

is that stock? because since when does a stock b16a make 180hp? i think you are confusing it with the b18b from the civic type R

it would give you top end power, but it's not how much one part gives you most power, it's how everything you have works together as a team and how you use it to be most effective.

yes and no. (first which engine exactly do you have ive never seen a b16a put that much power out stock wise) You might lose slightlyl on bottom end and gain some top end. where is your redline? Skunk2 im makes good power 6k and up. so if you redline at 7k it might not be worth it. do you have cams? this im responds well with cams and the cams love this manifold.

dont waste your time on a skunk2 im. I know from expierience that on b16's you loose a lot of bottem end power. Spend your money on something else. unless this b16 is going to make 200whp NA or go turbo i wouldnt put this intake manifold. Keep your stock intake manifold.

You do lose bottom end power but its not that great a loss to be honest with you. you do get that power up top though so its not lost just relocated is a better term. but yea unless you are modding more like cams, valves and shit like that i would wait on the im.

ive put a skunk2 intake manifold on 2 different b16a2 motors and trust me the car feels a lot slower on the bottom end. Keep your stock intake manifold and buy some dual valve springs and titanium retainers. Then after that i would put some cams and after that then i would put the skunk2 intake manifold.

Maybe it just felt differnt to me. But i do agree to upgrade the valve train with cams and stuff before you can take advantage of the manifold. so all in all if your motor is stock wait on the im till you work on the head.

This is good info. Maybe a mod should put this in a FAQ somewhere?
