keeping clean during the winter?
well when you live up north where it snows. its pretty hard to keep your car clean. cause the street cleaners use sand and salt on the roads. so how would you keep your car detailed and clean. cant wash it outside! lol i'm just really curious.

when i lived in michigan i would drive my moms car on the really nasty days, ans i would power wash my car if it was dirty. Every spring i would spend a day cleaning the whole thing, jack it up and remove wheels and all. I'd also remove the front bumper cover and get under there.

firts warm spring day use one of those drive through car wash's that have undercarrage spray to get rid of salt/sand residue (spelling) underneath
there are some places that have heated indoor car cleaning too like dealerships have so you might find one of those to use locally

It was 70+ today and I washed the car inside and out. It was nice; felt like I gain a few whps.
It has been a while since I washed (well) her. VA weather is weird, but one bad was pollen. I've got bad allergies and was hurt after. Pollen get so bad here your car turns yellow.
But I usually run her through the brushless wash during winter so it sprays salt and sand.
I even wiped the windows, but did not have any rain x.

I fully detail my car atleast once a week. Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall...all you have to do is call... i mean.....
But really I detail my car atleast once a week. Sometimes during the day; other times at 1-2 in the morning. I spend about $50-60 bucks every 2 weeks on car cleaning stuff. I'm probably the most anal person that I know about my car.
When I say "detail" :
1.)Wash exterior with Meguiars Nxt Gen wash.
2.)Remover rims and wash inner fender wells and use Prestone Brake Cleaner on all brake parts.
3.)Wash and wax rims with Meguiars Color X/then apply Eagle One Tire Wet (with a cloth. spraying it on leaves runs and some gets on your rims)
4.)Fully wax exterior with Meguiars Cleaner Wax
5.)Fully wax exterior with Meguiars Color X Wax
6.)Simple Green the engine bay (by hand;not hose off)
7.)Wax the engine bay with Meguiars Cleaner Wax
8.)Wax door jams and under trunk with Meguiars Color X
9.)Mother's Back to Black on all black trim pieces
10.)Vacuum carpets
11.)Prestone carpet scrub
12.)Eagle One Nano leather cleaner
13.)Turtle Wax F21 Interior cleaner
14.)Febreeze Auto spray (only on the floor, don't get it on the leather)
15.)Jack up the car from the rear and use Rubbing Alcohol on the exhaust piping (what can I say, it works great on stainless steel)
16.)Eagle One Window cleaner (ammonia free) both sides of the glass.
...do that once a week. Congrats your officially "insane" like me.
EDIT: and no...my car has never seen an automatic car wash, or anything of the sort.
EDIT #2: and yes, that is a 12 year old paint job. (see sig.)
