Spring cleaning

I know it's only the middle of March, but with the fair weather we have been having here in Wisconsin, I'm getting the itch for clean up. I've already used the do-it-yourself car wash often enough to keep most of the salt from making a permanent home on the finish as well as underneath. (I wish I lived back in Florida for this reason). But soon the time will come to bust out the Simple Green, Zymol Wax(kudos to you John), and everything else under the sun to get the car clean as can be.

I know that there are many of you who also live in snow stricken areas and sure you are starting to get the same ideas.

Just wondering if there are some hidden tricks some of you know of that you would be willing to share to the rest of the members?

This is a great thread and somebody should respond I live in a snowy area but I don't take the CRX out in the weather, nor did the NSX. I have to say I was more crazy about the NSX than the CRX. I had a cordless dust buster right next to it and whenever I got out of the car I vacuumed it quickly. This made sure that I didn't have "dirt piles" in my carpet, if you do a 10 second job every time you get out it will never get bad.

As for tricks, I just know that ever since I got hooked up with Zymol that's all I use. There's a ton of great products from them and they're all organic. From clays, the wax strippers, and show car carnuba waxes the stuff is just awesome.

What I do however once a year when the CRX/NSX goes back on the road is she goes up on jacks and gets a huge cleaning that lasts all day. Tires come off wheels get cleaned inside and out. I also get two big turkey pans and put them under my rotors (to catch all the crap and not get it on my garage floor). I wash down my suspension and take my pads out of the caliper. Calipers great cleaned and fresh grease on the pads . I started this in the NSX which was all aluminum and this is why I powered coated everything on the CRX so I could clean it easily and make it last. I take this time to inspect last years track damage if any and put new grease in the bushings if necessary. Finally I make sure the underside looks good and I put the wheels back on and wheel her outside where I can do my normal wash. Engine bay and car get cleaned and fully dried. After everything is completely dry. Back in the garage she goes for two coats of fresh Zymol NSX wax. I do this kind of religious cleaning in April then while I'm driving it during the spring summer fall I do the normal cleaning. I wax twice more during the beginning of summer and the beginning of fall.
