Do you clean your Undercarriage
You should clean your undercarriage once a year. No im not just talking about driving through a car wash that sprays underbody cleaner.
Im talking about getting under there and giving it the shine like a show room car. Grease, dirt, dead animal guts and other crap collects under there, the stock factory wax coat under there also wears away, which can lead to rust in the future.
steps to cleaning your undercarriage
1. Jack your car up, USE jack stands.
2. Spray your undercarrage down with degreaser (no need to worry about messing up components like on your engine bay) or if you fear it may wear out your rubbing bushings down there use and all natural citrus cleaner. Let it soak for about 10 mins. Some parts you may want to scrub with a brush to get them to shine again.
3. Rinse off all the degreaser. Let it dry.
4. Protecting the undercarriage. Car manufacturers spray the underside of their cars with a heavy protective wax coating, which contains cosmoline which some detailers say attracts dirt. Your gonna want to coat the undercarriage in a product specifically made for engines and undercarriages, such as Sonus Trim & Motor Kote. It's a spray-on, walk-away product that dries hard and leave a nice satin finish. Its not as durable as cosmoline but it looks much better as a finished product.
