Q: Cracked bumpers?
Is there a way to fix cracked bumpers?
it's not car's body, so i was thinking bondo is out of the question..
I was actually thinking about fiberglass, how would this work? or would it work at all?

i have seen fiberglass used to repair bumpers before, my dad fiberglasses all types of materials, fixing statues and little things, and even a buddies vdub bumpers, just need ther actualy sheet of fiberglass (at menards, or any local hardware store) and resin, if you have ever plaster cast something, tis the same effect, if people want i can post a DIY fiberglass article

you can do it with bondo, youll need something to hold the crack together first when I cracked my original bumper the body shop guy used a peice of sheet metal and some screws. from there he just bondoed like crazy
if anything I think it will be easier and cheaper to get a new bumper check out certifit they sell oem bumpers for like 30 bucks

Plan for the bumper will be carried out with Fiberglass and rasins.
here is the plan..
-sand down the bumper to it's base smooth or not, won't matter.
-apply 2 layers of fiberglass. on exterior and interior of the bumper. and sand down smooth on exterior
-apply 1 or two more layers of fiberglass, and do the final touch with sand paper making sure it's evened out with rest of the bumper's lines and measures.
-spray primer paint and take it go the body shop for the whole bumper to be painted.
sounds like good plan? or am i missing something out?[but the process of laying the fiberglass down]
