NA gsr/type r times
ive seen many people ask what the potential of an NA type r or gsr engine is, more towards the type r side..well ill post some information that ive aqquired and advise everyone to do the same...
gsr engine/type r tranny, can run high 13's with a good driver, slicks could bring it down
pure type r- mid to high 13's depending on the skill of the driver
stock gsr/gsr tranny- low 14's, bolt ons can send you into the 13.9 range, once again dependign on your skill as a driver
correct me anyone!!!!

gsr i would say low 14's with some nice tires. Thats also with nice bolt ons....not DC header crap. Now for the type R, i would say that 13's is very reasonable with a custom header and a nice tune.
fyi, its not often that you find someone who can just drive the shit out of a car and make times that no one would think possible.

Well, not to put you guys down, but those are merely speculations & guesses. I'd recommend checking track records. All that put aside, its still hard to determine and driver skills varies just as much as modifications soley by different gains from different brands.

I've actually timed my car 0-60 and gotten 5.7s, 6.2s, and 6.1s. It's hard to be accurate but on average I'm right around 6s. I have a g-tech but I'm pretty sure it's broken...says I only have 70hp.
Knowing the car I wouldn't bet on anything less than high 14's but I'm not a drag racer so I don't know for sure. I would just get the typeR trans for the LSD. If I were a drag racer I would probably have gone H22.
Logan, knowing your options you should get that GSR w/TypeR trans and save some dough.

No way that is right. A Stock GSR runs mid 15's. A GSR with bolt ons runs low 15's. Ive got a 200whp all motor B18c1, and im crossing my fingers to break into 13's. By your information, id be running 11's.

i agree. a lot of the speculation and guesses seem wayyy too unrealistic.

With my set up which finished would have been in the 215whp range i was estimated mid 13 high 12's. for a stock gsr to run high 13 or low 14 seems unrealistic when with header intake and exhaust they just get into the 14 with a good driver. type-r stock was rated at 14.9 in most mag's.

I dont imagine its impossible, since the DA's are so much lighter than DC's. Still seems low. Id guess around 14.2, but i bet the slicks help alot.
How does he run full out slicks on an OEM drivetrain? Id be afraid of snapping an axle or blowing the tranny.

thats about right. My buddy pulled around that with the same setup.
But however, I saw a few guys running a consistant low 13, high 12 with a gutted ls. Motor was stock, stock exaust manifold, air filter removed, ps, and ac removed. All they did was weld the spider gears together.
They also had several hundred hours of track time with every thing documented (weather, what rpm they launched, all that kind of stuff)

nice, i bet my buddie would have put up better times tho if he wasnt suffering from major traction issues through the first 3-4 gears

yeah just to clarify this thread was started to describe B18 times when the motor is in a civic hatch; specifically EK. I believe there's a good 200lb difference between a DC2 and an EJ6, which might explain the confusion.
That's good to hear such good times out of a GSR in a relatively stock (especially the tires!?!) civic.
