Velocity stacks on CAI's?
can you add a Velocity stack to a CAI like and AEM? they are obiviously a good way to get mid and low power so just wondering if they would work on a CAI
I dont see why you couldn't, just wondering why most people use them with SRI it it becuase of filter location?

Are you sure you mean 'velocity stack'? Velocity stacks are used when the intake, throttle body and intake manifold are replaced by ITBs. The stack ensures laminar, predictable and independent airflow into each throttle body.
There's no real place or purpose for a velocity stack on an intake, especially when there are still a throttle plate and intake manifold downstream.

i agree. you can put em on a carburated engine and replace the air cleaner with one, but not for an intake. it would be pretty pointless

See my avatar. They can also be used for turbos. That is my supra motor with it running some, for when I got to the track. They actually help. Craig pasely (No not the country singer) had some on his supra. So did Ten Vinny.

So that would be on the intake port of the turbo, instead of an intake, right?
I can't think of an instance where you would have an intake and vel stacks

But this was 2 years after the first graph. And actually he added a cat and used bigger piping which should cause him to lose bottem end. But the short ram vs the cai also helps alot in the mid range. I don't see much of a point to it with the filter on though.

Time between the graphs makes no difference other than temp/humidity differences.
A bigger filter lets more air in than a smaller one. More air = more power. And of course any self respecting tuner will run a filter on their induction setup.
That is by no means a comparison of stack vs. no stack since it took 4 variable changes to achieve the new graph. All it proves is that you can change things, and get different ammounts of power
