I was doing some research for a customer today, who wanted to remain automatic and run a programmable engine management software (rather than a piggyback). this is a very little known corner of tuning for the most part, especially because it involves not only automatic transmissions, but also accords
it can be done and work flawlessly (contrary to popular belief), with a few changes.

now for it to work on obd1 5th gens, follow the post, but you simply need to swap the highlighted wires from the spreadsheet, rather than all the OBD2>OBD1 conversion steps, then carry on with the thread (chipping the ecu, and finding a tuner).
I figured a few of you might find this educational, and it will probably come in handy in the future.
