A balanced LS crank is a very very good option if you wanted to cut the displacement back a little bit. Or it's a great option on a 1.8l to bump displacement up a bit.

Who will be assembling this monster? I'm not so sure this is something my crazy DIY hands would even attempt. Too many customs clearances to check. ACL bearings will definitely require proper clearance.

Can't wait to see this thing
You're a wise man Will I will be assembling the engine HOWEVER, I'm sending the crank to ERL along with my block. They will size the proper ACL main bearings when they do the line boring. I can handle the rod bearings or I may have Endyn do it for me since the crank and rods are coming from them. Once I get everything back I will however be checking all the measurements myself. I plan on a healthy investment in dial gauges and specialty tools. I don't plan on leaving this to the pros (like my head was ). Even though ERL and Endyn are great vendors I plan on checking every tolerance from the bore to the crank end play. The bearings will be checked with a micrometer and then plastigauge'd. I have plenty of time and I'm gonna try and take massive amounts of photos.
